Long in the works and finally finished... my stack on the coming religious revival, as heralded by a rare outer planet alignment.

Don't get too excited though— not all that glitters is gold. This isn't a new Golden Age, but the late autumn of Spengler's "Second Religiousness", a false renewal born of a desperate and dying civilisation.

Can something genuinely sacred still emerge from it? Yes, but in a quiet and unexpected form.

I got into astrology because of Evola

No specific book of Evola’s pointed me to astrology.

Rather, it was the realisation that you can’t get very deep into the esoteric without some knowledge of astrology and its symbols. It’s a foundational sacred science.

Further, ancient astrology is rooted in Traditionalist metaphysics and studying it provides a great framework for understanding the principles of Tradition and the nature of higher reality.

Pursuing a study of astrology has deepened my ability to understand and engage with Evola’s ideas and, likewise, studying Traditionalism has given me a solid paradigm through which to interpret astrology that is lacking in most modern expressions of it.

The sky we see is not the sky as it truly is. The physical heavens are the shadow of the higher heavens, a reflection of eternity cast into time and space, and necessarily imperfect. Astrology should begin not with the shadow, but with the archetype, the Form.

The tropical zodiac does exactly this. It is not premised on the drifting backdrop of the stars, but begins instead with the unchanging Form: the perfect circle and the four gates of light and dark at the solstices and equinoxes. These are not arbitrary seasonal markers. They are earthly signatures of a higher order— the divine mandala through which the year unfolds.

The sidereal zodiac, by contrast, derives the higher from the lower. It treats the empirical positions of the stars as primary and attempts to build the symbolic order from that data. But metaphysically, appearance cannot generate essence. The symbol precedes the phenomenon; the Form precedes its reflection. To invert this is to confuse the reflection for the object casting it, which is a metaphysical impossibility.

This is why I favour the tropical zodiac: because it begins from the unconditioned principle and sees the world as its unfolding, not as its measure. Sidereal has its own inner coherence and can still yield insights, but it starts from a different first principle, one that I consider an inversion because astrology must speak from the axis mundi if it’s to serve as an accurate compass for the soul.

In a couple weeks we have a lunar eclipse in Pisces and a solar eclipse in Virgo

medieval astrologers claimed these eclipses indicated:

-war by deception
-conflict in ports and seas
-instability of prices
-harm to physicians and scientists

One thing that I think has been overlooked in a lot of of the discourse over the upcoming lunar eclipse is the fact that the Sun and Moon are also in harmonious sextile and trine aspects with an exalted Jupiter, the host of the eclipse.

I see Jupiter as putting out a protective hand and providing an easy and flowing alternate route for the tension between the Sun and Moon. If not for this, I would agree that the eclipse might look rather ominous (don't they all, to some degree?-- it is a luminary going dark after all), but this is a strong and dignified Jupiter and I don't think we should discount its benefic influence.

THE STARS OVER EUROPA

You can feel it even if you can’t explain it. The mood in Europe has turned. What was once celebrated as progress has been exposed as decay. Institutions have lost all respect and credibility. The sacred cow of multiculturalism is slowly being revealed as a Trojan horse. The public is angry, increasingly polarised, and tired of being told they must commit civilisational suicide in order to prove their virtue. This isn’t just a passing mood swing, but a foundational shift. A societal correction is looming and the ideals that shaped post-war Europe are collapsing under the weight of their own false promises. A reality check is overdue.

Beyond this observable change in the Zeitgeist, however, deeper forces are are at work: metaphysical currents that dictate the ebb and flow of the happenings in our world. In antiquity, kings and emperors would not take any major actions without determining whether or not these currents were favourable, and to do that, they would look to the planetary cycles of the heavens. The planets were believed to be connected to these cosmic rhythms and could thus provide omens as to what fate had in store.

Today, astrologers continue this tradition and track long-term historical cycles by watching the movements of the planets, and as the four outermost planets all move into a unique alignment, radical change is imminent. Pluto has entered ideological Aquarius, Saturn and Neptune will conjoin in martial Aries, and Uranus is soon to ingress into restless Gemini, creating a harmonious configuration that produces a sense of ease and flow between them. And while it doesn’t take an astrologer to see that the stage is already being set for a cultural shift, astrology can give us clues as to what kind of show is about to play out on that stage and what twists and turns the plot might take.

The outer planets involved describe what kind of reckoning is building and we can look to these archetypes for general principles of how things will develop over the next several years. Pluto in Aquarius brings the breakdown and restructuring of collective systems and rejects anything that is no longer functioning. Saturn and Neptune in Aries will fuse belief with action, concretising idealism and turning it into a tool of discipline, sacrifice, and even war. Uranus in Gemini is prone to destabilising consensus by collapsing narratives, spreading new ideologies, and creating hard polarisations. Together, these planets will work to accelerate the denouement of multiculturalism, globalism, woke-ism, and other luxury ideologies of late-stage liberalism, not through dramatic ruptures, but through the organic momentum of accumulating inevitability.

As the mood shifts, we can expect to a see cultural hardening. The age of using victimhood as cultural capital is coming to an end, and not gently, but with shame and rejection. We are entering an era where strength, clarity, and competence are valued again and weakness, confusion, and uselessness will be seen as liabilities. The new ethos won’t be soft and inclusive. Saturn’s influence in Aries and as the ruler of Aquarius will draw lines that say “here are those who aren’t pulling their weight.” No longer will the struggling soul with a dozen mental disorders be lauded, but rather the person who knows how to keep it together and work hard without complaining. Social currency will come from usefulness, not uniqueness. The cult of uniqueness will give way to a cult of functionality. Pluto in Aquarius doesn’t care about your feelings, it cares about how efficiently you function within the whole. Saturn has no more patience for emotional fragility, it wants disciplined action. And Neptune no longer cares if your beliefs make you feel good, but only what they can motivate you to accomplish. People are growing cold, not out of cruelty, but out of exhaustion, and the collective will begin to strip itself of sentimentality in favour of that which actually works.

A major flashpoint for this is likely to be immigration, an issue that has metastasised into a malignant tumour that goes well beyond simple policy debates. It has become the most visible and inflammatory symbol of the failures of globalism, multiculturalism, and liberal democracy. Pluto won’t tolerate non-functional deviations within the collective and anything that undermines efficiency and internal coherence will be discarded. That includes unassimilated populations and their competing value systems. The conversation around immigration will no longer be framed as an economic problem or a humanitarian concern, but as an existential and civilisational-level threat to Europe’s ethnic and cultural continuity. Diversity will increasingly come to be seen as naïve, dangerous, and suicidal, while anti-immigration stances will gain ground as the common sense position and remigration will be viewed as a practical necessity for civic and national stability.

I've talked about this before, but I'm always happy to do so again, as many people seem to need regular reminders that ancient astrologers were vastly more erudite than they are.

Of course the ancients were aware that there is a 13th sign with a toe in the ecliptic, but they did not include it in the zodiac. Why?

The construction of the zodiac is rooted in the relationship between the Sun and the Moon. It represents the ideal or mathematical circle, defined by the ecliptic, or solar year (one full journey of the Sun).

The zodiac is divided into 12 zoidia, or signs, each of which demonstrates a wide range of secondary qualities, shaped by the 12 lunation cycles that occur within each solar year.

Pythagoras, as one example among many, believed that the number 12 was the number of the universe, insofar as "the universe" is understood as the yoking of the 1 (God) to the 2 (creation-- the variegated expression of the 1). You find a similar concept in the I Ching, where the first two hexagrams are related to the yang (1) and the yin (2).

Yeah, yeah, you say, what about about Ophiuchus?

Well, the number 13 plays an interesting and esoteric role in the construction of the zodiac.

In a nutshell, there are always 12-and-change lunations per solar year. It’s never a perfect 12. This extra “change” has led some to speculate about a ostracised 13th sign and Ophiuchus is an obvious candidate.

But we have to return to the ideal of the ancients: the union of the One and the Many. Mathematically, 13 disrupts the ideal of unity because the zodiac’s purpose is to reflect cosmic order, not the irregularities and imperfections of the material world.

And yet, 13 is encoded into the lunation cycle. The Moon must pass through 12+1 signs in order to reunite with the Sun in its synodic cycle, where the syzygy of the Sun and Moon birth each sign of the zodiac.

So, that fractional part, what some have interpreted as “the missing 13th sign”, was absolutely known to the ancients. But rather than seeing it as a mistake, they understood it as the hidden principle behind the 12. The Moon can only return to the Sun by traversing a symbolic 13th space: the threshold where new creation begins. That +1 is the generative matrix from which the 12 signs are born.

In other words, the very reason we have a ‘perfect’ 12 at all is because the 13 lurks behind it. Cool, huh?

In 2023, when Mars was in Virgo and Mercury was about to station rx, a thief/murderer started showing up at my house to harass me.

Now, with Mars in Virgo again and Mercury about to station rx, the almost exact same incident just repeated itself with a different would-be thief.
