Family identifies the girl found dead Saturday morning at an apartment complex on the south side as 14-year-old Deandra Staples.

Deandra was found shot in the courtyard at Laurelwood Apartments at 11:17.

Her family told us,
“She didn’t deserve this she was such a sweet little girl she was loved she didn’t deserve any of this . We need justice.”

Police are encouraging those with information to contact the IMPD Homicide Office at [phone].
