I am honoured to join the National Summit on Security, Leadership and Economic Development 2026 in Abuja on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., where I will speak on the topic, “Energy as a Catalyst for Sustainable Economic Growth and National Development.” The summit provides an important platform to explore how Nigeria can harness its energy potential to drive economic growth, create opportunities and accelerate national development.
I look forward to sharing the platform with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), alongside other distinguished leaders and stakeholders, as we engage on issues critical to Nigeria’s security, leadership and economic prosperity.

“The future of Nigeria’s energy sector will not be built by chance, but by young leaders equipped with the knowledge, courage, and innovation to create lasting solutions. Through MAELF, we are investing in the people who will power that future. The certificates they received are not the destination, but a reminder of the responsibility they now carry to lead with integrity, pursue excellence relentlessly, build transformative solutions, and leave every community better than they found it.” — Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi
“Je ne voulais pas mendier”. Non-voyante, cette Nigériane de 63 ans continue de travailler malgré son handicap pour subvenir aux besoins de sa famille.
Today, I had the pleasure of once again hosting my colleague and brother, Dr. Matthew Olumide Adepoju, the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
Dr. Adepoju’s visit reinforces the strong working relationship and mutual respect we have built over time in advancing Nigeria’s scientific and technological frontiers.
At the ECN, we remain committed to strengthening institutional synergy, fostering innovation, and driving impactful partnerships that will accelerate national development.

@SaharaReporters Is better to hav it 4rm FG dan 2 be snatched by EFCC. Its a small gift compare to the value the DG added to this government and the youths of 9ja. Show me 1 senator, minister or governor who can equate that capacity? Please tell us what we need 2 know not what we alredy know.
He who work hard shall have his dividend in large gesture... stop painting it to raise dust. Water it so that the land can remain green. Kokuma kachi gindin uwarka.
It is a great honour to be conferred with the Distinguished Energy Leadership Excellence Award by the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM), today at the Commission’s headquarters. Additionally, I was also inducted as a Fellow of the Institute.
I used the opportunity to brief the CIISM delegation, led by its Registrar, Dr. Adelanke Peter Oyintoke, on the Renewed Hope Renewable Energy Transition Programmes being championed by the Commission, as well as the strategic importance of the National Energy Master Plan to Nigeria’s energy future.
I profoundly thank the Institute for this great honour, which is based on our outstanding achievements within the Nigerian energy sector and beyond. One of the creeds I hold dearly is that to whom much is given, much is expected. This recognition further motivates me to intensify efforts and do more.

Arriving at COP30 in Brazil felt like stepping into a global crossroads where ideas, innovation, and determination converge to shape a more sustainable future. Our delegation made its first stop at the Nigeria Booth, an energetic hub that reflects the resilience, ingenuity, and climate ambition of our nation. We then toured other booths.
Alongside Hon. Adelegbe Emmanuel Oluwatimehin, Chairman of the House Committee on Science and Technology, we briefly engaged with key stakeholders and reaffirmed Nigeria’s drive for innovation and technological advancement.
Our presence here underscores a renewed determination to strengthen international cooperation and ensure that Nigeria remains at the forefront of global climate and energy conversations.

A Message of Gratitude
The true measure of every man lies not in the monuments he builds, nor in the fleeting vanities of power, but in the quality of minds around him and in the thoughts they hold of him. Today, as I reflect upon the cascade of goodwill messages that reached me from across Nigeria and beyond, I see life breathed into this eternal truth.
I am deeply moved by the kind words and generous outpouring of prayers and goodwill, particularly from my boss, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and our beloved mother of the nation, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on the occasion of my 59th birthday.
Mr. President, your heartfelt message, steeped in warmth and comradeship, has touched me profoundly. This feeling, as you well know, is mutual. The bond we share, anchored in loyalty and service, is one I will never take for granted. I have watched you shoulder the burden of difficult choices at critical moments, steering our nation through turbulent waters into a harbour of stability that promises abundance.
To serve alongside you, under your visionary and people-centred leadership, in shaping the destiny of our great nation through the Renewed Hope Agenda, is both an honour and a lifelong lesson in courage and statesmanship.
I must also extend my deepest appreciation to our State Governors, Distinguished Senators, Honourable Members of the House of Representatives, cabinet members, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community figures, and the countless Nigerians from every walk of life who have reached out with words of kindness. Your prayers and your solidarity remind me, once more, of the sacred responsibility that public service imposes upon us.
As I meditate on these tokens of goodwill, I am renewed in purpose and fortified in spirit. I remain convinced, as does Mr. President, that Nigeria’s greatest days are ahead of us. With unity of will, clarity of vision, and fidelity to our shared aspirations, we shall overcome our trials and bequeath to coming generations a nation that is secure, prosperous, and just.
Thank you all, and may God continue to bless our dear country.
