After liberating Battledale from a syndicate of corrupt merchants and robber barons, Aencar was elevated to Lord of Battledale. After eight years of strong and competent rule, Lord Burlisk began his campaign to unify the Dales, gaining the moniker of Mantled King—named so for the signature red hood and mask that hid a disfigurement earned in battle with a warlock.
