After Vance accused Zelensky of not saying thank you, Zelensky is now tweeting individual thanks to every single world leader expressing solidarity with Ukraine.
An all new low for American diplomacy. I really want to believe that Trump is a weak narcissist and not a Russian asset but he makes it harder every day

@JakeNewfield He would later claim apartheid South Africa was leading “White Christian Civilization” against the “International Conspiracy” of Jewish bankers and the “hordes of Coloured people”
I don’t think it’s a big enough story that The Fraternal Order of Police, the largest police union in the country, rescinded their endorsement of President Trump due to his pardoning of Jan. 6 insurrectionists
I’ve been reflecting on this over the past day or so, and I’ve come to a realization.
Many of my friends on the center-right who are upset with me for making what I believe to be very obvious observations aren’t necessarily angry at me—they’re angry at the implications of what I’m saying.
The idea that neo-Nazism has entered the mainstream, potentially influencing the White House, is so alarming and existentially terrifying that it's easier to lash out at the messenger than confront the reality.
If they accept this, it means that the political home they've invested so much of their identity in, the movement they've championed for years, has become something so morally repugnant that accepting it feels like breaking their own brain.
The cognitive dissonance is overwhelming.
What's striking to me is the selective outrage. Many of these same people are quick to call everyone communists, often with little more than circumstantial evidence.
Yet, when it comes to countless instances of glaringly obvious signs of fascism in their own movement, they either look away or attack those pointing it out.
@JerrickNaylor @JakeNewfield @elonmusk Very well said. "Normal" people are excusing it, putting it out of their mind like Trump has taught them to do for 8 years, neo Nazis are applauding and calling it "based"
@JakeNewfield What does this mean? They excuse his behavior so I should disbelieve my own eyes? What REASONS do they give?
Show me ONE example in ALL of history of someone accidentally doing that gesture and we can start talking about reality instead of cult delusion.
@JakeNewfield Why do the people who lived through Fascist regimes think he did it?
