For the past few hours, the opposition has been crying that Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were sent to 5 days of custody just for hoisting the Tricolour at Jantar Mantar. What a pathetic attempt to fool people!

First, they jumped the gate and entered the JDU office without permission before making their way to Jantar Mantar. The case is about trespassing, not simply hoisting the Tricolour.

Second, they got bail just two days ago after signing a peace bond. Then they went straight back to publicly calling people to protest at Jantar Mantar, violating that bond. These are the two serious issues behind the magistrate’s decision to send them to custody.

Tomorrow, if I break into Rahul Gandhi’s house without permission, hoist the Tricolour and steal everything inside, should I get away with it by claiming that I was arrested for hoisting the national flag? What kind of stupid logic is this?

Opposition leaders, keep pushing this nonsense if you want. The Tricolour is not a free pass to trespass wherever you want. Your propaganda has flopped. Stop embarrassing yourselves!
