The EHRC Guidance on single-sex spaces is unjust and unworkable.
That's why UNISON are demanding MPs stand with trans and non-binary workers and oppose the guidance.
On International Women's Day 2026, I'd like to pay tribute to all of our women reps, workers, officers, organisers and staff - you are at the forefront of our union and fighting for workers everyday. We honour our women activists at the bargaining table, on picket lines, fighting for better pay, fighting to close the agenda pay gap and pension gap. Thank you and solidarity. #InternationalWomensDay2026
Do me and Isabelle and Alexander a favour. At work, find out where your nearest defibrillator is. Don't know CPR or how to use one? Ask your work for a refresher. Thank you. X
Ken Loach is supporting me to be UNISON next General Secretary!
"As an active trade unionist for over 60
years, I know that we all benefit from union leaders
who are progressive, democratic and those who use
the strength of their union to advance the interests of
their members"
The memories we have, the smiles they prompt, the warm glow that they leave is the legacy that death can never take from us. Treasure the positive memories. Take nothing for granted and be thankful for the friends the universe puts in our lives. #doodleaday#griefjourney
🚨 Britain’s largest union should be run by our members, for our members. That’s why I’m putting myself forward to be UNISON’s next General Secretary.

ENDS MIDNIGHT SUN NOV 3RD
Knowing for the past few weeks that this moment was fast approaching didn’t make it any less heartbreaking to hear the news early this morning that Janey had died.
Janey Godley truly was a force of nature, and one of the funniest people I have ever known. I was able to visit her in the hospice a couple of weeks ago and though she was fragile, she still had me in stitches.
Janey was also incredibly kind. And she made the world a better place.
A bond was forged between us in the darkest days of Covid when her famous voiceovers of my daily briefings went viral. In the toughest of times, she made people laugh - and that was precious. She did more that that though. In managing to project the serious public health messages of my briefings to a much wider audience than I would have managed alone, she helped save lives.
The photos on this post are from an event we did together last year - it was a special night.
I was so proud to call Janey a friend and will miss her hugely. My heart goes out to her family and many friends - they are in my thoughts today.
I know Frank will have been there, holding the door for her as she went - with a tear in his eye, as I have in mine. RIP my friend ❤️
@JaneyGodley So sorry to hear this, thinking of you and your family. Thank you to your Mum for all the laughter she brought us, she will be sadly missed ❤️
@JaneyGodley 💕💕to you Janey. Thank you for sharing your journey and this precious time you have left. You really are an inspiration, please carry on, it’s not time to get the door yet xx
