What a day!! Reception had a great time at OakyFest! 🎉We danced, 🎶we played in the paddling pools, played with inflatables 🦖and even got ice cream! 🍦Everyone looked AMAZING!!

Reception had a fantastic time during our Map Day! We showed off our amazing homework’s, made treasure maps���‍☠️, worked our way through mazes, went on a number hunt using a map 🗺️and then finally drew a map showing where Rosie went in the story ‘Rosie’s Walk’!🐓

Reception had some very special guests today! We had a visit from some farmers.🧑‍🌾 👩‍🌾 They even brought some animals with them! We got to stroke them and even feed some! 🐐🐑🐇🐹🐓🦆���

We have had great fun learning about an artist called Giuseppe Arcimboldo who painted faces using fruits and vegetables! We had a go at making our very own! 🍓🍍🥦🥕 #OakyArt

This week we have been looking at the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’. We have had a great time making pictures of our very own fruit baskets and talking about the adjectives used to describe the different fruits.

To continue our learning about our feelings and moving to Year 1, we read another story called Silly Billy. He had lots of worries and he found a way to help make his worries go away. He made worry dolls! We decided to make our very own worry dolls!

This week in Reception we are starting to talk about our move to Year 1, we discussed how people can feel lots of different emotions and sometimes this’s can be confusing! We read the story The Colour Monster and loved how he sorted his feelings! 😀😭😡🥰😱😌

Reception Oakies had a great time at forest school on Friday. 🌳 Lots of children showed how resilient and brave they were by getting onto the high ropes all on their own! 💪We also made some bees out of sticks and wool. 🐝 #OakyForestSchool

Last week we were looking at all the different things we can do to keep heathy! 💪We looked at the importance of exercise, brushing our teeth and eating the right foods! 🪥🏋️🍓🥦

Reception have loved telling their friends about all the amazing facts they found out about bees and showing off their super talk time homework’s! We’ve enjoyed doing lovely bee related activities!🐝

Reception had a very special visitor! We had a real life bee keeper in class today. 🐝 We learnt all about hives and making honey along with having a look at 3 real worker bees and a queen bee. We got to try on a bee keeper outfit and taste the delicious honey! 🍯

Reception Oakies had a great time in forest school today! We were mini-beast hunting 🔎and found some huge snails and slugs!🐌 We also had lots of fun making our own stick people and enjoyed listening to Stickman while having our delicious snacks ☕️🍪 #OakyForestSchool
