@spiritedsight Brie tucked the journal under her leg quickly, making sure not to disturb Juniper who was still latched onto her.
She would hide it in a better place after Juniper was done.
Adrienne’s question made Brie think for a second. She hadn’t seen either of them today. “No, I don’t.”
@spiritedsight Satisfied with the explanation, Sofia nodded once, looked at both of her mothers and then ran off to play with her siblings.
Brie sighed softly, looking at the journal that her wife now held.
“Sorry. I’ll make sure it’s placed somewhere else where they can’t find it.”
@spiritedsight +
“Sometimes, I get bad dreams. But I’m fine, I promise.”
As one hand wrapped around Juniper, the other reached out towards her wife. “You’ve been everything I need. And so much more.” She whispered to Adrienne.
@spiritedsight Her brows furrowed, looking from Sofia to Adrienne.
“Everything is fine. You know I just have nightmares sometimes. I had something happen to me, Sofia, before I came here.” She said. She didn’t want to tell the children everything, but a small explanation would be okay. +
@spiritedsight + she didn’t understand what was going on quite yet. She was asleep, but then Juniper woke her up so they came outside.
That was all it was, but of course, Brie didn’t know what Sofia saw or what was going on.
@spiritedsight Brie was sat in the garden, with Juniper on her lap, latched on. At the sound of voices, Brie looked up and smiled softly.
“Oh, Sofia. Everything is fine, I promise.” She said softly, her warm smile planted across her face. “Sorry if I scared you.” She said, although +
@spiritedsight Sofia walked across to the window and then pointed.
“There! There mommy!” She said, as she pointed towards Brie who was sat in the garden. “I found mama!”
She looked at Adrienne, concern painted across her features. “Is she okay?” She asked.
@spiritedsight + nodding at her mom and taking her to where Brie was.
But she wasn’t there.
“I swear she was sleeping on the couch.” Sofia said, worry crossing her face. “I told the truth. I promise.”
@spiritedsight Sofia loved the fact that Adrienne hadn’t gone straight to judging her. It meant she would always feel safe to tell the truth.
She hugged her mother back, before then pulling out of the hug and handing Adrienne the journal.
“I didn’t read all of it.” She said, before +
@spiritedsight Sofia was usually a well behaved kid, but she had witnessed something not so long ago that concerned her. She just wanted to make sure everything was okay.
“I saw mama sleeping on the couch one day. She was making some noises.” She said, still unable to make eye contact with +
@spiritedsight “It was on the kitchen counter…” she said at first, but still, she could not make eye contact with Adrienne.
Another lie.
Quickly, she corrected herself.
“It was under her pillow.” Sofia now whispered.
