(1/2) Choosing to live by faith puts us in a right relationship w/ God. Everything we get in Christian life comes by faith (see Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Hebrews 10:38, & Galatians 3:11). God didn't lower standard but raised it: (sinless) Jesus died on the cross for everyone.

A life-changer, Jesus changes our values in life like He did Paul. Writing to new believers, Paul wrote about loss 3x in 2 verses, referring to things he treasured but now considered "rubbish." Christ became the most important. @kiebowman #Bible #sermon #Philippians 3:7-8

(1/2) Choose faith over fear. Fear & faith can't coexist but our faith answers our fear. The Sea of Galilee was usually calm but a mega storm came. The disciples forgot God's power & faced problem 'til they got Jesus involved. He then performed a miracle by silencing the storm.

Fasting ("no eat" in Greek & "shut mouth" in Hebrew) allows us to focus on God. It helps us surrender to Him (humility instead of pride) & to seek Him more fully through life's big challenges. With God, all things are possible. @kiebowman #Bible #sermon #Ezra 8:21-23

(1/2) The Apostle Paul was in prison but he was pressing on - aggressively pursuing as in hunters going for prey or Olympians competing for a prize. We also press on to experience progress in Christ now, toward closer relationship w/ God, without regret, & through resilience.

b. God's Prizes: mercy & favor (grace)

c. God's Prosperity: Joseph did God's work & obedience helps us see His omnipotence.

(1/2) There's liberty in the midst of bondage. Joseph was a model son, model sibling, & model servant in his papa's house, Potiphar's house (corruption, temptation), & even prison house (restrictions, persecution). How to serve in bondage?

(1/2) God doesn't need us to accomplish His purposes, but He wants us to be a part. God called for watchmen on the wall 2,700 years ago; He now calls us as watchmen to extraordinary prayer for kingdom expansion through continually-expressed & Kingdom-expanding prayer.
