Report: Transgender People Leaving Red States Are Draining Democrat-Run Seattle's Nonprofits | Amy Furr, Breitbart
Increasing numbers of transgender people are reportedly leaving red states for Democrat-run Seattle, Washington, and a nonprofit in the area is struggling to keep up with the demand.
The group called Traction has assisted over 1,000 transgender people in moving to the area since 2024 but it and other nonprofits, according to a Washington Post article published on Tuesday, are running out of resources.
“Though trans people make up just 1 percent of the population in Washington state, the nonprofits that help them say their budgets are drained and their staffs are stretched so thin that last month the Seattle LGBTQ Commission asked Mayor Katie Wilson (D) to declare a civil state of emergency. Such a declaration would free up general fund dollars to bolster the nonprofits’ finances as they help transplants find housing and jobs,” the outlet said.
The report also cited a poll that suggested about 400,000 transgender adults left red states not long after President Donald Trump beat former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
A poll in 2023 found one-third of Seattle’s residents were considering leaving mainly due to home prices and crime, while homelessness has also been a major issue plaguing the area.
The Post article noted how those moving to the area would put additional burdens on subsidized health care.
“If the city chooses not to declare a state of emergency, commission leaders said, they worry what will happen not only to Seattle’s LGBTQ+ organizations but also to ones that help all city residents. Many of the newcomers need shelter, food aid, and subsidized health care. And the city’s homeless population has already reached a record high this year,” the article stated.
“Across the country, ideologues who deny the biological reality of sex have increasingly used legal and other socially coercive means to permit men to self-identify as women and gain access to intimate single-sex spaces and activities designed for women, from women’s domestic abuse shelters to women’s workplace showers,” the order reads, explaining that this is “wrong” and adding that such moves — namely, attempts to remove the reality of biological sex — “fundamentally attack women by depriving them of their dignity, safety, and well-being.”
“The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive impact not just on women but on the validity of the entire American system. Basing Federal policy on truth is critical to scientific inquiry, public safety, morale, and trust in government itself,” Trump’s order reads, blasting the left for replacing the “immutable biological reality of sex with an internal, fluid, and subjective sense of self unmoored from biological facts.”
A poll in May 2025 found Americans were increasingly rejecting transgender ideology and showed support for how Trump was handling the issue, according to Breitbart News.
Seattle has long been a center for controversy when it comes to transgender issues.
In 2019, a city official was placed on leave after it was reported she hired a transgender stripper to dance topless at a homelessness conference. A Seattle museum in 2022 planned to host a summer camp led by a cross-sex “drag artist” to train children on how to “create your own personas.” And Seattle’s public schools published a lesson plan telling fourth graders to write a letter with advice to a child who knew he was a girl “from the time she was two years old,” Breitbart News reported.

When police are killed in the line of duty I always hear the same sentiment
"They knew the risk when they took the job."
How come we can’t apply this logic when criminals are killed during arrests?
"They knew the risk when they did the crime."

Trump’s Immigration Enforcement Really Is Slashing Violent Crime | John R Lott Jr, The Federalist
Is crime falling? Some conservatives, notably Steve Bannon, argue that Americans should ignore the FBI’s crime statistics showing record drops in violent crime. The murder rate last year fell to the lowest rate ever recorded, and the violent crime rate is clearly at the lowest in many decades. But Bannon recently declared that “nobody believes” FBI crime data or its director, Kash Patel, adding: “I don’t want to hear any more statistics about how crime’s coming down.”
That skepticism overlooks an important distinction.
The FBI has made mistakes in the past, particularly in its active shooter reports and hate crime data. Some police departments have also failed to report complete crime data to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports. But those problems do not explain the concerns with the measure of overall crime.
The real issue is understanding what different crime measures actually tell us. Past problems with the FBI’s measure of crimes reported to police do not mean anyone manipulated the data. Nor do they mean that last year’s reported decline in crime — or the declines so far this year — are inaccurate.
The United States has two primary measures of violent crime. The FBI tracks crimes reported to police. The Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) estimates both reported and unreported crime. Researchers have known for decades that most crimes never reach the police. Victims report only about 40 percent of violent crimes and roughly 30 percent of property crimes.
The media focuses almost exclusively on FBI crime data. Before 2020, FBI data and the NCVS generally moved in the same direction. During the Biden administration, however, they sharply diverged. While reported violent crime fell by about 8 percent, total felony violent crime measured by the NCVS surged 59 percent — the largest four-year percentage increase since the survey began more than five decades ago.
Several factors explain that gap. Whether victims report crimes depends heavily on whether they believe police will catch and punish offenders. As cities reduced police staffing through budget cuts, retirements, and, in some places, “defund the police” policies, arrest rates declined. Lower arrest rates gave victims less reason to report crimes.
Some police departments also made reporting more difficult. In some jurisdictions, 911 operators asked whether the offender was still at the scene. If the answer was no — as it almost always was — they instructed victims to visit a police station later to file a report. Simply calling 911 does not place a crime in the FBI’s statistics; an officer must complete an official report. When governments make reporting more burdensome, some victims understandably decide it isn’t worth the effort.
Fortunately, many of those policies have been reversed.
Although reported crime has declined, we will not know whether total crime also fell in 2025 until the Bureau of Justice Statistics releases the next NCVS this September.
Even so, there is good reason for optimism.
Reducing crime is not complicated. Governments must make crime riskier by increasing arrests and convictions, imposing longer prison sentences, and allowing law-abiding citizens to defend themselves. The news on each of those fronts has been encouraging.
FBI arrests surged in 2025, rising 184 percent over 2024 levels. Total FBI arrests — a broader category that includes many joint operations with state and local agencies — increased by 197 percent.
Voters also replaced several George Soros-backed prosecutors in jurisdictions such as Los Angeles and San Francisco with district attorneys who prosecute criminals more aggressively and seek tougher sentences. Across the country, President Trump’s U.S. attorneys have also pursued criminals far more aggressively than their predecessors. In Washington, D.C., for example, the Biden administration’s U.S. Attorney declined to prosecute 67 percent of those arrested. Under U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, that figure has fallen to just 4 percent.
Nor is it a coincidence that the record influx of illegal immigrants during the Biden administration coincided with a sharp increase in violent crime. It is equally unsurprising that crime has fallen as deportations have increased. Deportation records show that 70 percent of illegal immigrants deported during the Trump administration had either criminal convictions or pending criminal charges in the United States. Even those who avoid arrest understand that any contact with law enforcement could lead to deportation, giving them a strong incentive to stay off the police’s radar and avoid committing additional crimes.
Finally, the number of adults carrying concealed handguns has risen sharply, with the latest survey data showing a 5-percentage-point increase in concealed carry over the past year and a half.
Americans shouldn’t blindly accept crime statistics, but they need to understand what the different numbers actually measure. The FBI’s numbers show that reported crime has fallen dramatically, while the NCVS will tell us this September whether total violent crime has also declined. Stronger law enforcement, more aggressive prosecution, and greater accountability provide good reasons to expect that the encouraging trend in reported crime reflects a real improvement in public safety.

This story is probably misinformation since it is based on a 2021 study about Covid misinformation v facts. Since then most Covid misinformation has been proven true and the 2021 ‘facts’ have been proven as misinformation. Sorry Charlie 🤓
Why Smart People Still Fall for Misinformation | The Bronfenbrenner Center, Psychology Today
A large international study suggests ways to combat misinformation.
Key points
- A landmark study tested how people in 16 countries across six continents fall for and resist misinformation.
- People who think more analytically are better at identifying misinformation, regardless of culture.
- Reminders to think about whether something is true before sharing it reduced the spread of misinformation.
---
Misinformation spreads across the globe, but most of the evidence on why people believe false claims — and what helps them to identify misinformation — comes from studies conducted in the U.S. and a handful of other Western countries.
A recent study published in Nature Behavior set out to fix that problem. Cornell psychology researchers David Rand and Gordon Pennycook, with 11 colleagues across the globe, ran the same experiment with nearly 35,000 people across 16 countries on six continents. They set out to examine the reasons people believe misinformation — and which tools work best to counter misinformation. The study was named the Behavioral Science & Policy Association's 2026 publication of the year.
Conducted in 2021, the study focused on misinformation about COVID-19. The pandemic offered a unique opportunity because it is one of the only topics for which the same true and false claims circulated throughout the world. This allowed the research team to make a cross-cultural comparison using a shared set of facts and falsehoods.
Participants were divided into groups with different approaches to statements about COVID-19. Researchers asked them to rate the accuracy of the headlines or indicate if they would share them. Participants who were randomized to the sharing outcome had to either evaluate the accuracy of a non-COVID-related statement or read simple digital literacy tips before deciding whether to share the statement.
Researchers found large variations across countries in how likely participants were to believe false statements about COVID-19. For example, people in India were twice as likely to believe a false claim than people in the United Kingdom.
Overall, people from individualistic countries – with core values of self-reliance and individual autonomy – were better at discerning true statements from falsehoods. But in each country, researchers identified one trait that predicted people’s ability to separate true facts from misinformation: a tendency toward analytical thinking rather than following a gut feeling.
“Pretty much everywhere we looked, people who were better critical thinkers and who cared more about accuracy were less likely to believe the false claims,” Rand said.
People who valued democratic norms also tended to be better at spotting misinformation. In addition, those who said they would definitely not get vaccinated against COVID-19 were 52.9% more likely to believe misinformation compared to participants who said they would get vaccinated.
What about sharing misinformation?
Although the vast majority of participants said they valued accuracy, those values didn’t play out in their actions during the study. Across the globe, 79% of participants said it was very or extremely important to share only accurate news. But by the end the study, researchers found that 77% of participants had shared misinformation as part of the experiment.
The disconnect likely comes from people’s attention to detail, Rand explained. “A lot of it is people just not paying attention to accuracy,” he said. “In a social media environment, there’s so much to focus on around the social aspects of sharing — how many likes will I get?, who else shared this? — and we have limited cognitive bandwidth. People often simply forget to even think about whether claims are true before they share them.”
The researchers found that reminding participants to pay attention to accuracy — such as asking, “Where did this come from?” and “Is this actually true?” — and sharing simple digital literacy tips helped to prevent them from sharing false information
The take-home message: Misinformation is a global problem, but evidence shows that teaching people to think more analytically is the best way to combat it across cultures. Brief reminders to pay attention to accuracy represent an effective way to prevent people from sharing misinformation.

Doing The Opposite: Studies Show Gigantic Wind Farms Significantly Warm The Night | P Gosselin, Watts Up With That?
Germany’s online Report24 has an article titled: “Studies Show Gigantic Wind Farms Significantly Warm the Night”.
Proponents of the energy transition often ignore or conceal the negative local climate impacts of wind turbines. Report24 references a 2012 study published in Nature Climate Change by Liming Zhou and his research team, which investigated the impact of large wind farms on land surface temperatures in Texas.
Researchers analyzed satellite data from 2003 to 2011 covering an area in Texas that hosts four of the world’s largest wind farms. In the areas with wind farms, nighttime surface temperatures in summer increased by up to 0.65 °C more than in comparable areas without turbines. The calculated warming trend was up to 0.72 °C per decade.
Why do turbines cause warming? At night, the ground cools down, making the air near the surface colder than the layers above. The turbine rotors disrupt this natural stratification, mixing the layers and forcing warmer air down to the surface, which warms and dries out the ground. Germany is plastered with circa 30,000 turbines spread across the country. In addition to the growing urban heat island (UHI) effect, Germany’s local climate is being disrupted by its widespeard use on wind turbines.
Politicians and mainstream media of deliberately ignoring these facts since 2012. It argues that the local warming caused by wind farms is falsely blamed on CO₂-driven climate change in order to maintain the narrative of “saving the climate.”
Also, deforestation is underway in Germany in order to clear the way for largescale windparks, severely damaging a natural ecosystem that acts to cool the local climate,

🚨 WOW! President Trump dropped this gem from Marco Rubio CALLING the rise of communism years ago
MARCO NAILS IT: "At the core of democratic socialism is Marxism, and at the core of Marxism is this fake offer that if you turn over more of your individual freedom, we're going to provide you security. We're going to provide you free healthcare. We're going to provide you free education."
"But the problem is that when they can't deliver on it or when you're not happy with it, you don't get your freedoms back. And by freedoms, I don't just mean elections."
"I'm talking about the right to choose your own doctor, the right to make healthcare decisions for yourself, what your kids learn in school, what schools they go to, all that stuff you lose control over."
"And you don't get it back just because the security they promised you didn't happen."
"So that's what we're on the verge of having to decide here in this country. It's a reason why people flee countries that have this stuff!"
"It's a big deal for America, and I hope people start waking up to that reality." 🇺🇸

Mike Rowe says history shows why Americans keep rejecting socialism | Charles Creitz & Hannah Brennan, Fox News
Americans who say they aren't proud of the United States may need a refresher on the nation's history or a visit to other countries, Mike Rowe told Fox News Digital on America's 250th anniversary.
Rowe, founder of the skilled-trades nonprofit mikeroweWORKS, narrator of "Deadliest Catch" and host of "Dirty Jobs," said celebrities should avoid dispensing political advice but argued history shows why socialism has repeatedly fallen out of favor.
Asked about a Gallup poll showing only 53% of Americans are very proud of the U.S., Rowe said that while he’s no "mind reader," his first thought was "if you're not proud of the country, then it's possible you might not be up to speed on where the country came from and how the country evolved or maybe how the rest of the countries and the world function."
"Nobody wants a lecture or a sermon or a history lesson, but it's hard to appreciate who and what we are today unless you really remember who and what we were 251 years ago (in 1775) — back when the American dream was really just a dream."
Rowe said the constant stream of bad news makes it easy to draw short-term conclusions about the country, but America's founding offers a longer historical perspective.
Rowe said the Founders effectively signed their own "death warrant" when they declared independence from Great Britain in pursuit of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
"That's what the American dream was. It [became reality] in 1783 when we signed the Treaty of Paris. … We're living in the American reality. And it's not perfect. It will always be a work in progress, but to look at the country and say, ‘Ah, I'm not that impressed’, I would suggest maybe visit some other countries and look back at our own history and reimagine your worldview."
Given recent wins by socialist politicians in New York, New Jersey, Colorado and elsewhere, Rowe said that "history is a wheel" that always spins.
"Personally, I rack my brain to think of all the instances where socialism paid off. I got nothing, man."
Ideas that are out of favor suddenly return to the fore, and then fade again as people experience their own history in their own time, he said.
While the best political ideas won’t always win short-term, they ultimately wash out in the end, he said, pointing to history as a guide to why "we kicked [socialism] to the curb every time it reared its head."
When asked his suggestions to Republicans in combating socialism or Democrats in managing their new schism, Rowe quipped that he knows "one thing the country absolutely, positively doesn’t need."
"My opinion on any of that crap," he said. "I would be so far out of my lane to mouth off like that. We've got enough celebrities and enough public figures with enough opinions on telling both parties what to do.
"I've got a lane. The lane right now is mikeroweWORKS and BuildFreedom. And in that lane are hundreds of thousands of great jobs that are wide open. … And I mean that sincerely to anybody on the left, anybody on the right."
MikeroweWORKS and BuildFreedom are "so aggressively uninterested in your politics," Rowe said, focusing instead on work ethic and a willingness to learn skills that are in demand.
In regard to his focus on blue-collar work and warnings that the artificial intelligence revolution is endangering it, Rowe said of AI pioneers like Elon Musk that he won’t bet against the mogul or his work.
"Three-quarters of the country is uneasy with AI ... but the people building this infrastructure are talking about a $10 trillion investment in our future."
Rowe said Americans have a habit of becoming suspicious of the very industries and technologies they eventually depend on. Still, he remained confident that the country's democratic process and spirit of innovation will prevail.
"We're going to argue like hell," he said. "And, in the end, hopefully somebody somewhere in this town will be talking about these same things 250 years from now."
