Most dragons in House of the Dragon were designed to look intimidating.
Then there’s Meleys.

George described her as having scarlet scales, copper horns & pink wings. Instead of making her another monster, HBO leaned into those details.
They created a dragon that looked almost regal.
Every shot of Meleys feels elegant. The rich crimson scales. The way her wings catch the light.
She doesn’t dominate the sky through size like Vhagar.
She commands your attention because she looks unlike any other dragon.

It’s the perfect reflection of Rhaenys herself.
Beautiful, composed & far more dangerous than she first appears.
