@GovHotWheels_TX@GinaHinojosaTX The official campaign account living in another candidate’s comments is crazy. The post mortem on this campaign will go hard. Diabolical.
Considering @GovHotWheels_TX is only campaigning in deep red rural towns, won’t let media into round tables, and won’t let local officials come to the invite only events, we are real curious about what is in those Abbott-Elon emails that is so embarrassing bc the man is hiding.
@GovHotWheels_TX LOL this is so chaotic and bad that we are having trouble following the lie here. But… ole Greg did cut summer lunch programs for food insecure kids so there is that.
@EddLeal29@GovHotWheels_TX We see that we are just making things up now. How about giving state money to rich kids to pay for their school, giving Tesla millions to build a data center, and the state taking over “independent” school districts? Doesn’t scream super duper free market capitalism. Keep trying!
@GovHotWheels_TX We are really gonna need someone to pull up to NACOGDOCHES and get a picture of the “radical socialists” in the crowd. Gonna be shocking when it’s just normal East Texas folks looking for a change from whatever the hell this culture war bit is.
@DonHuffines Sure thing boss. Is that why we are cutting entire divisions? Real hard to find waste, fraud, and abuse when there is no one looking for it.
@sbellsnyder We have a theory that he bullies local govs to high heaven which makes campaigning tough. Gets massive data center donations 2-3 weeks before an important LOCAL gov data center decision- a theory that he gets paid to pull local strings which makes rolling through town tough.
I just saw a report from the Sabine newspaper, which is the Home county to Hemphill,Tx a location where the governor held a Rural affordability tour this week.
This newspaper editor— you know I love me a newspaper editor — wrote up a post following attend, attending the event.
It gives us some interesting insight into what the governor’s strategy.
The editor :
-it was not a public meet and greet
- the governor’s team had specific parameters for who they wanted at the round-table property owning residents, parents, small biz owners
-no elected officials-except he has been inviting Texas House members to sit next to him at these events.
-Television press are invited They were allowed to get B roll video photograph of the governor arriving.
-when the round table discussion began, the media was asked to leave
- and then after the round table, the media was invited back in for the governors prepared remarks
This coupled with the fact that he won’t debate means that they are working very hard to control the messaging and protect him from the public.
That’s the campaign folks.
No public events means that voters are only allowed to hear what is perfectly curated by staff, the consultants and the messaging team.
@IHateJeffLeach@bradj_TX@GregAbbott_TX Right?! We would love to know who is running this campaign bc every multi million dollar commercial or production doesn’t quite make sense and seemingly contradicts itself. Diabolical.
@bradj_TX@GovHotWheels_TX@GregAbbott_TX What in the made up legislation and money is this? Would be awesome if an incumbent of 12 years campaigned on what he has done rather than make up whatever the hell this is 😔🫠
Is Texas a state that is by and for the people, or is this the trillionaire’s world and we just live here?
After Elon Musk donated $500k to Abbott’s reelection campaign, SpaceX received a $30M state grant and $1.66B JETI tax break to build a semiconductor factory in Texas.
Texans deserve answers.
@scottbraddock@GregAbbott_TX@GinaHinojosaTX Not a very good response… somehow people don’t trust “guidelines” and “directives” that have no teeth to them. Texans know when they have been exploited; looks like @GovHotWheels_TX campaign is slow to catch the memo.
@christensen2023@scottbraddock@GinaHinojosaTX@GregAbbott_TX Somehow people don’t buy guidelines that don’t have teeth. Laws protect people. Abbott could have done that a long time ago. @GinaHinojosaTX out here putting in the work and protecting Texans since we have been exploited for far too long.
🚨 BREAKING: Texas state Rep. Gina Hinojosa has filed an official request to inspect unredacted communications between Gov. Greg Abbott’s office and Elon Musk and his companies, after roughly 1,400 pages of records released last year were heavily redacted.
The state previously argued that portions of the communications could be withheld because they contained “intimate and embarrassing information.”
In a letter sent to Abbott’s office today, Hinojosa invokes a provision of the Texas Public Information Act governing information requested by lawmakers for legislative purposes. She is seeking the same records previously released to the Texas Newsroom, but “without any redactions whatsoever,” including material deemed “embarrassing” or “intimate.”
Hinojosa says the records could shed new light on Musk’s relationship with Abbott, including his companies’ lucrative state contracts and tax incentives, as well as Musk’s campaign contributions. She argues Musk has turned Texas into a corporate playground and says greater transparency is needed to expose what she describes as corruption in Abbott’s relationship with powerful tech interests.
She is requesting that Abbott’s office arrange an inspection of both the redacted and unredacted records on or around October 13.
Now Texans may finally learn what was considered so “intimate and embarrassing” that it was kept from public view.
