1. The truth behind Jaewon’s death was completely unexpected for me. Initially, I thought he had fallen from the balcony by accident, but what he actually did is far worse because through his death he deliberately left Seo-In with a cruel sense of guilt and remorse. Seen in this light, Seo-In’s words to their mother at the funeral, claiming that he had killed Jaewon make sense. He wasn’t directly responsible for his death, yet he ultimately allowed it to happen. Even if Seo-In had tried to save him, I believe Jaewon would have chosen the same path sooner or later again.
Above all, Jaewon kept it hidden until his death that he had beaten Yeongwoon. Had he spoken up, the relationship between Yeongwoon and Seo-In after their reunion would have unfolded very differently.

2. What stands out is how Gangddo-nim through the use of visual metaphor makes it clear that Jaewon is the central catalyst of their misery and of how their relationship unfolds from beginning until now. Everything resembles a domino effect: one action leads to a chain of consequences that cannot be undone.
Although Seo-In is the one who initiated and provoked Jaewon (since none of this would have happened if he hadn’t deliberately approached Yeongwoon), the metaphor subtly highlights that Jaewon’s interference in Seo-In’s life was inevitable as he was always at the center of the events and continued to shape them even after his death.

3. Even though Yeongwoon means something different by “forgetting” (in the sense that he’s not responsible for his pain and the path his life has taken), Seo-In makes a painful, yet mature choice this time. He doesn’t try to turn the page and pretend like nothing happened as he once did on his mother’s advice, which led him into an empty life filled with messiness, indifference and emotional numbness. Instead, he consciously confronts the harm caused by his family and the consequences of his own actions, aiming to proof that he deserves to remain by Yeongwoon’s side.

However, his pursuit of revenge against his family will most likely affect Yeongwoon once again. It‘s already the second chapter in a row that hints that Seo-In’s family may be behind Yeongwoon’s state from Ch.1.

I can’t stop thinking about or yapping about <Gale of the God>, I’m a historical girly down bad (my top two being TGN and SUS) and GOTG has joined their ranks in my personal opinion with just one season. If you love a top who falls first, harder, deeper and would rip the sky in half for their lover, this one is for you.

This story is being so well down and giving me everything that I love with my historicals. It has plot, mystery, and amazing chemistry between leads. I love a top who’s invested in knowing how to love his bottom.

GOTG is the story of a married couple (yes! they’re officially married, it’s not just talks lol):

Lee Hyo is the Crown Prince who has been blessed by a divine power/being known as Lord Black Tiger.
Seo Doram is the last remaining member of a traitor family who has been crowned the Crown Princess.

The two share a past which is still not clear but everything that is happening and Lee Hyo making Doram the crown princess is all from an interaction they had when they were younger, however Doram does not have memory of this past interaction.

S1 is all about their romantic development and learning about the characters and I just love the air of mystery surrounding both characters. S1 finale was “edge of your seat” good.

I highly recommend this story and want more people to read it cause it’s just so freaking good and the art is delicious. Doram is an absolute cutie pie, a total sweetheart and so lovable and caring. While Hyo is this handsome prince who can talk anyone out of their clothes, he’s cunning, mysterious, a learner and a yearner. (*Image from author’s page*)
