AI boom could overwhelm metals supply

Copper fell ~2.5% on COMEX yesterday amid an AI-equity led sell-off and LME warehouse inflows, not due to any real change in the physical market or the supply pipeline. We see such sell-offs as entry points. On the physical side, smelters are paying miners ~US$272/t to secure concentrate, buyers outside the US are paying record premiums for 2027 metal, and new mines can take decades to reach production and need at least US$5/lb copper to justify going forward. .@OrpheusUranium reported first uranium assays from the Conways tenement at McArthur, Australia: four rock chips returned 4.1%, 3.8%, 1.6%, and 0.8% U₃O₈. A handheld spectrometer flagged the anomaly along an access track with no prior sampling. We view the grades as a notable surprise, though four weathered grabs over ~35m of strike make this an occurrence, not yet a discovery. Read more: https://t.co/zFqukd6aen $ORP

.@f3uraniumcorp reported new radiometric results from its 100%-owned PLN Project in the Western Athabasca Basin, with hole PLN26-232 — about 1km east of Tetra — returning five discrete intervals of radioactivity peaking at 4,400 cps over 0.5m. A second diamond rig has been added for follow-up. We view this as a genuine step forward at Target Area 1, extending the known footprint beyond Tetra with upside the market has yet to price in. .@ProspectivaRes reported assays from the first three holes of its maiden 10-hole, 2,500m program at São Francisco, Brazil. All three hit massive to semi-massive copper sulfides 60-95m downhole, with the best hole, SF_26_003, returning 4.78% Cu, 0.19 g/t Au and 0.65% Zn over 7.15m, incl. 9.17% Cu over 3.60m. $PSVA now describes São Francisco as a stratabound VMS-style system; since VMS deposits cluster, SF3-SF10 could offer upside if the model holds. .@BorealisMining's CEO Kelly Malcolm updated us on activity at the 100%-owned Borealis mine in NW Nevada and the Sandman project. Mining continues at East Ridge, Deep Ore Flats, and Borealis pits, with gold poured regularly as $BOGO works toward commercial production. Fiscal 2027 guidance is expected shortly, the next re-rating catalyst, giving investors a first production baseline, with our estimate at ~22koz Au in FY27 as the mine ramps. .@BayhorseSilver is working to restart its past-producing Bayhorse silver mine in eastern Oregon, which hosts a 2018 inferred resource of 6.3M oz Ag at 742 g/t. New underground holes reported Oct 19 intersected silicified hydrothermal breccia, extending the breccia zone, with assays pending. The company already owns an ore sorter and mill in Idaho. We view $BHS as an interesting early-stage setup. Read more: https://t.co/dOKmF5LGiO

.@NVOrganicPhos hit the target Meade Peak Member in hole MM26-11 at its 100%-owned Murdock Mountain phosphate project, extending strike past 3.3km. The hole cut 28.7m of Meade Peak in a step-out from MM26-10, which had returned 10.89% P2O5 over 3.60m. We view this as an incremental de-risking step for $NOP, with MM26-11 the sixth hole to hit the unit along trend. Assays are pending. Read more: https://t.co/awgPQcLRea

.@EmpressRoyalty_ closed its US$62M gold stream on Tongon, a producing Cote d'Ivoire gold mine, funded by a US$55M draw on its US$75M Appian facility. 2026 guidance rose 14%, with first gold flows expected this quarter. We view this as a sign management is confident in Atlantic's near-term delivery. The December mine plan is the next catalyst for $EMPR's 3.58% stream. Details: https://t.co/oe82PikOdf

.@CerradoGold beat Q3/26 guidance, delivering 16,685 oz GEO (+21% YoY) at Minera Don Nicolas. YTD output of 44,942 oz GEO puts $CERT on track for the high end of 2026 guidance (50,000-60,000 oz GEO), with a revised PEA due by Q1/27. We view this as an encouraging read on the mine's longer-term production potential. Learn more: https://t.co/wJpXJ9yQZP

.@TroilusMining continues to build momentum, securing US$850M in credit approval from its banking consortium, alongside a US$132M LOI for export credit with Finnvera. The Company has also been selected for Quebec’s Filon Initiative and is finalizing its Impact and Benefit Agreement with the Mistissini First Nation. We continue to see extraordinary value creation potential as $TLG advances its world-class gold-copper project toward production. Read more: https://t.co/eoaDV0hymE
