@ExInspectorBDS@TinkerB1985@vernalscott Day one of training, and I remember being told "You'll all be worrying about being shot or stabbed, but statistically it's the drive home that will kill you"
Happy 90th Birthday Dr Krishnan Guru-Murthy! He's at work today as usual, in the NHS, where he must surely by now be the longest serving Consultant Radiologist on record. He became an NHS doctor when he arrived in the UK in 1962 and was made a consultant in the early 1970s. Here are a few photos of Dad - the most recent I have with my Mum recently and the oldest I have when they got married, and a few in between with my brother and sister. We don't have any from when he was a boy because he was orphaned young and the family lost everything as refugees in the war anyway. He's a remarkable man - and we're all very grateful for him still being around to dispense his wit and kindness to us, his grandchildren and everyone.
34 years ago this month (November 1989) the last ep of #Blackadder Goes Forth was shown. The brilliant series ended with this moving scene, cementing the legend of the comedy.

It's no surprise that depression and #PTSD are relatively common in the police force - it is a hugely stressful job. But does the stress go away if you retire or change job?

Quite frankly, I don't care about which expletives certain Government advisers decided to use on certain days.
I care about the millions of children who had large parts of their childhood stripped away from them.
Or the young parents too frightened or unable to get a tumour checked.
Or the thousands forced to die alone.
Or the victims of domestic abuse, locked away with their abuser.
Or the small business owners, forced into bankruptcy.
Or the vast numbers of people suffering, and often dying, in pain at home without sufficient medical help
Or the tens of millions who had their lives cruelly put on hold, entirely unnecessarily.
I could go on and on and on.
This inquiry is asking all the wrong questions, and is failing the countless people failed by lockdowns.

@PolicemansLot @acatfromgreece Athena is the single most damaging thing to operational policing I have seen in twenty years. Yet we weren't allowed to even whisper that without being labelled as 'resistant to change'. Who drives this stuff?
British Gas profits £969m after price cap rises allowed it to make more money from household bills. They now propose a 33% hike in dividends & £450m extension of share buyback. Meanwhile 2 million households can’t afford their gas bill. What am I missing? https://t.co/ApzehnKB78
