The intelligent cry would be "cut taxes for working people".
This would solve inequality faster than anything.
Taxing the rich, at best, solves nothing, and at worst drives investment away, making conditions even worse for working people.
Cut taxes. Stop wasteful government.
Budgets colossaux. Prélèvements records d'Europe. Résultat : tout est pourri.
Pourquoi ?
Parce qu'il manque deux choses que seul le marché fournit : le skin in the game et les prix.
Le skin in the game d'abord. Un entrepreneur qui livre un service pourri fait faillite. Il perd SON argent, SA réputation, SES années de travail. Un bureaucrate qui gère mal un service public ne perd rien. Il sera promu, muté, ou au pire il attendra sa retraite. L'échec n'a aucune conséquence personnelle.
Toujours.
Police must pursue their inquiries, but it is at the very least premature to say “there is nothing to suggest” Ann’s murder was “politically motivated”.
The public cannot be expected to believe anyone would drive from Yorkshire to Devon, randomly pick a remote bungalow, bludgeon the elderly occupant to death before taking £50, two bottles of whisky and then driving back to Yorkshire.
This doesn’t look much like a burglary gone wrong. The daytime break-in, leaving a car prominently parked in the drive, the lack of valuables stolen, the use of extreme violence. Why?
Several questions need to be answered urgently:
* Have police thoroughly checked the arrested man’s emails, social media and phone messages?
* Was the guy known to police? If so, for what?
* Are there any of Ann’s views the suspect was offended by or was involved in activism against?
* Is he a Devon man and was he known to Ann?
* Why was a counter-terror unit used in the raid on the house where they found the suspect?
In the case of the tragic murder of MP Jo Cox, the police quickly revealed her killer was a white, far right extremist.
The appalling murder of Ann Widdecombe deserves exactly the same transparency. Victims of different political
beliefs must not receive two-tier treatment.
This is a heinous crime that has shocked millions of us. Ann was a beloved National Treasure. We need a full picture of what happened to her, and why, not bland or evasive police assurances.
Imagine you build a successful business in the UK.
It makes £10 Million profit.
First you pay 25% Corporation tax = £2.5 Million.
Your net profit after tax is £7.5 Million.
Average UK P/E ratio for public companies is ~15.4. Let’s use that as a proxy.
This business is worth £7.5 Million x 15.4 = £115.5 Million.
UK Government wants to tax you 2% wealth tax on your net worth above £10 Million per year. 2% x (115.5 - 10) Million = £2.11 Million.
So you have to pay yourself a dividend of £3.48 Million which will pay 39.35% dividend tax to pay the wealth tax.
Remaining Company profit = £4.02 Million.
If you want to have that money, you have to pay dividend tax again. After the tax you have £2.44 Million.
So the net effect is that if you make £10 Million, the UK Government will take 75.6% of it as tax.
Almost half of this tax comes from the 2% wealth tax.
It’s an extra 35% tax on profit in this example.
Problem is dimwits who were “good at maths at school” and politicians don’t understand basic maths.
This will mean absolutely nobody will take the risk to invest or start a business in the UK.
What is the point? If you are lucky enough to succeed, you will get punished hard.
Jobs will not be created. Investment will dry up immediately. Anyone starting a business who is young enough will move.
The power of FAFO will lead to a collapse in living standards and a collapse in economic growth.
This will destroy the UK economy and be the biggest own goal in a generation.
Why are we blindly walking into a self-orchestrated financial disaster?
But hey - it sounds good because an idiot YouTuber who has no clue said so.
It has good vibes.
Tax the millionaires! What is so bad about a 75.6% tax exactly?
Activist: "Farmers are millionaires sitting on land worth a fortune. They can afford the inheritance tax."
Farmer: "How much did I earn last year?"
Activist: "I don't know. A lot, surely."
Farmer: "Twenty-two thousand. Before the tractor broke."
Activist: "But the land's worth millions."
Farmer: "On paper. I can't eat the field or spend it. The only way to turn it into money is to sell it, and then I'm not a farmer, I'm a bloke who used to have a farm."
Activist: "So sell a corner of it."
Farmer: "A corner doesn't work as a farm. You can't run a suckler herd on the bit that's left after the taxman's had his slice. You sell one field, then the next bill comes, then another field. It ends one way."
Activist: "The land only costs that much because you won't sell it."
Farmer: "It costs that much because a hedge fund three counties over wants it for carbon credits and a footballer wants it for the view. Neither of them has ever calved a cow at three in the morning. They set the price. I get the bill."
Activist: "It's still an asset."
Farmer: "It's a workplace that happens to be expensive. You've decided the value of the shop is the same as the wage of the shopkeeper. Come back in February and watch me not be a millionaire in the rain."
Silence from Keir Starmer.
Silence from Sadiq Khan.
Silence from Shabana Mahmood.
No COBRA meeting.
No 24 hour courts.
No fast-tracking to prison.
Nothing.
Apparently they only do that for white, working-class Brits.
It couldn't be more clear.
We live in a two-tier society.
Apology not accepted.
Nothing to do with facts. You called that great woman, just slaughtered, an “old maid”, a “virgin”, a “spinster”.
Language which gave away your horrible misogyny.
You would NEVER have described a 78-year old man as “bachelor” let alone “virgin”.
It was unforgivable.
As Ann would have said: “APP-ALL-LLING”!
The UK last built a public water reservoir in 1992.
The population has increased by over 10 million in the intervening years. Including a surge of immigration.
Now, the state has the cheek to announce a hosepipe ban. Why is that necessary?
Because no infrastructure has been built to cope with the expanding population.
It rained for the whole of January but not enough reservoirs to catch the water.
Our governments have been absolutely and unrelentingly crap. Short-termist.
Only interested in importing cheap labour. Not a care for the people who live here and want things to work as they do in a civilized country.
The next reservoir, in Havant, is not scheduled for completion till the early 2030s.
Prepare for more hosepipe bans and collapsing sewers.
Britain urgently needs an effective ruling class before we slide into a failed state.
@elonmusk Hey look @garyseconomics that selfish trillionaire is continuing to roll out internet access to parts of the world no governments have provided for, bringing free education to some of the poorest on the planet.
What a selfish, asset-building wanker eh?
Adam Boulton is a pig in appearance and attitude.
Ann Widdecombe was marvellous.

Wow. This was an absolute Mic Drop by the United States 🇺🇸 at the UN.
The Islamic Regime representative: “I have one word only: I advise to the representative of the United States to be polite.
He then seems to threaten the US Ambassador and the US itself:
“It will be better for yourself and the country you represent.”
US Ambassador, Mike Waltz:
“Frankly, I’m not going to dignify this with another response, especially, as this representative sits here, in this body, representing a regime that has killed tens of thousands of its own people and imprisoned many more simply for wanting freedom from YOUR tyranny”
Norway is a great case study for immigration because they track everything on race, background etc.
Using 2024 data; Norway has a foreign population of 1,152,000~ people or (20.8% of their population). The majority of these people are from Europe, but around 400,000~ are from the Middle East and Africa.
Social welfare:
72% of all state social welfare/assistance goes towards immigrants, 86% of which was paid to immigrants from Asia (Middle East, pakistan, india) and Africa, 6% to european immigrants.
Health:
Immigrants represented 90% of the annual cases of tuberculosis, 60% of the annual HIV cases and 96% of the annual Hepatitis B cases.
Crime
Immigrants make up 30% of all annual imprisonments.
Immigrants make up 47% of all cases of perpetrators have murdered their partner.
Immigrants made up 47% of cases involving domestic violence to children.
Fiscal effects
The cost of each immigrant to the Norwegian economy by what they take vs what they contribute;
Somalian: $-927,351 USD each (43,200 Somalis in Norway)
Indian: $-164,862 USD each (19,200 indians in Norway)
Pakistani: $-525,555 USD each (38,600 pakistanis in Norway)
Im really not seeing the strength here, maybe it really is all just about the food?

SWITZERLAND: A Muslim woman was fined 100 Swiss francs ($126) for wearing a burqa, which was banned in the country via referendum.
She contested the charge, claiming ‘Islamophobia’, and then her fine increased to 1,000 Swiss francs ($1,260).
To the degree “Britain is finished” it’s because we have become one of the most anti-wealth, anti-success, anti-growth nanny states in the developed world.
The nation that birthed the Industrial Revolution, invented modern capitalism, governed 25% of the world’s population and invented swaths of technologies that the world relies on today… is suddenly afraid of a little inequality.
The truth is however that we don’t have rampant inequality at all.
By all measures we are a normal economy…
- Wealth of the top 1% has been stable for 40+ years. There’s no data that says it’s “out of control”
- Wealth at the bottom 50% is in line with the rest of the world’s major economies.
- Our Gini-coefficient is middle of the pack for the G20 nations.
So… Where are we going wrong?
- Our economic freedom index rating is falling. It shows that economic freedom is down significantly because we are over-taxed and over-regulated.
- The ratio of government spending to GDP is sky high (45% of GDP). We’re losing our free market system because almost half the economy is government spending NOT market driven spending.
- Taxation is at an all time high point. It’s wildly progressive relative to our past and our peers. The top rate of tax kicks in at 3x the average while the USA has a lower top rate that kicks in at 7x the average. Minimum wage is pegged at 60% of the median - one of the highest in the world. All of this is to say that we’re so safeguarded from danger that we can’t actually get ahead!
- Wage suppression through taxation cliffs is holding back productivity.
- We have socialist ideologues in senior roles across government who LOVE the idea of the nanny state. They think economic growth is government growth. They think it’s dangerous for wealth to be in the hands of individuals. They think “wealthy people” are people who “have savings”.
- we have a government that is painfully unaware that new technology erodes the value of jobs at the bottom and increased competition through open-door migration suppresses wages too.
We’re trying to tax the country into growth. It doesn’t work.
Gary wants to create equality by making the country poorer and it doesn’t benefit anyone.
Instead of worrying about inequality we should be focused on making the country richer and raising living standards.
Where was your outrage for this you Irish lefty wet wipes?
I was totally supportive of being burned. (Epileptics always used to be … )
But now it’s a symbol of a mosque you are outraged. Massive dickheads
Joe Rogan can’t believe what he’s hearing as British MP Rupert Lowe reveals arriving migrants get pushed to the “top of the list” for dental and healthcare perks citizens “don’t get.”
ROGAN: “If you live in a terribly poor country and you can just get to England, then instantaneously you will get money and housing. Why would you not do that?”
LOWE: “Well, not only that, you go to the top of the waiting list for dental treatment, which British people don’t get. The NHS, you’re at the top of the waiting list.”
ROGAN: “Wait a minute. They get access to dental treatment that the British people don’t get?”
LOWE: “Correct.”
ROGAN: “Why do immigrants get access to it?”
LOWE: “This, Joe, is the mystery of what our leaders—I don’t know what they think they’re doing… To your point, if they know there’s welfare when they reach Britain, they’ll travel across multiple safe countries to get to the welfare, the free housing, and all the other stuff.”
Elon Musk: “The reason I felt that it was important to acquire Twitter was because I could feel the walls closing in. It was outrageous that they suspended the account of a sitting president.
I think it was only a matter of time before they suspended my account.
Twitter and pretty much all the social media companies, Google and everyone are controlled by far-left activists. That’s the truth of it.
How do you know what’s real when it’s all filtered through a far-left San Francisco Berkeley lens?
They just manipulate the truth constantly."
Wealth tax explained:
1. Laura loves to cook, she risks all her life savings and opens a small restaurant: Laura‘s Kitchen
2. Laura works really hard, evenings, weekends, no vacations
3. The local community loves Laura‘s Kitchen, it’s a success, the restaurant gets larger, Laura hires 30 people from the neighborhood
4. Laura makes 1,5 Million € in profit, she pays 40% in income tax: 600,000€
5. The left „tax the rich“ party wins the elections, and introduces a wealth tax
6. Laura‘s Kitchen gets valued by the tax authorities at 25 Million €. Laura must pay 5% wealth tax: 1,25 Million €
7. The income tax of 600,000€ plus 1,25 Million € in wealth tax is more than the 1,5 Million € Laura makes
8. Laura cannot afford to pay more taxes than she makes, she closes Laura’s Kitchen
9. Laura loses her life savings despite years of hard work, 30 people lose their jobs, the state receives zero taxes
10. The local community goes to McDonalds again
11. The local left “tax the rich“ party members blame „capitalism“ for that on social media
12. Everyone gets poorer due to higher unemployment and lower tax revenues
Why is this so difficult for the left to understand?
