The average Emergency Call Officer handles about 4500 calls a year. This includes collisions, domestics, medical emergencies, break and enters and assaults. #YYC #YYC911

Some of the Emergency Call Operators here are telling me that they handled over 10,000 calls last year. People only take calls & don’t dispatch will take more calls than the average. That’s a lot of calls! #YYC #YYC911

When you call 911 or the police you are asked to give the address of the emergency & then you are asked to repeat it to confirm. This may seem silly, but it has proved important. Sometimes people give their old address out of habit then remember the new one on the 2nd try. #YYC
