Wonderful trip up to the Dingle in Llangefni on Anglesey yesterday to see the red squirrel would recommend the trip to everyone who loves wildlife.
Great company with #brummieincymru,Richard Cleobury and his mate Andrew.
Definitely going again.
Grey squirrels carry a virus that does not harm them, but which is deadly to red squirrels. Three years ago we had a petition debated in the Senedd. Ministerial promises on pox vaccination led to little. So, in 2026 we try again! [📷P. Trimming] https://t.co/Yl3MMDo3ri

We cleared #Anglesey of grey squirrels. Our wild red squirrel population doubled, then we boosted genetic variation to get an x8 increase. We rescued reds from the brink of extinction. Now they are threatened by squirrelpox virus and we want a cure https://t.co/4s06iTSx5X
🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Action Needed! 🚨
The Administration team has officially submitted a planning application to Anglesey Council on Thursday April 16th, and we need your voice to help protect our environment.
No matter where you live, you can make a difference. Whether you are a LOCAL RESIDENT or NOT or a FREQUENT VISITOR, who loves this area, you have the right to object to this application.
Why should we object?
The environmental impact of this proposal is significant. We are concerned about:
1. Potential loss of local biodiversity and wildlife habitats.
2. Increased carbon footprint and traffic congestion.
3. Strain on natural resources and the unique landscape of Anglesey.
4. Total Loss of our free amenity. Original plans allowed the public 75 acres of PENRHOS . Now it’s zero!
📢 What happens next?
Stay tuned to this page! We will shortly provide the specific link to the Council portal and the exact application reference number. We will also be sharing a detailed list of environmental facts to help you draft your objections effectively.
Please share this post to spread the word. Let’s protect Anglesey together! 🌿
Penrhos today, this is why we fight for the robin, woodpecker, red squirrels and all the other flora and fauna ,they deserve this space! far more than a holiday village of 500 chalets with a 1 thousand space car park ! #AchubPenrhos#SavePenrhos

Grey squirrels are being spotted more often on Anglesey 🐿️
They threaten our native red squirrels by competing for resources and spreading squirrelpox. Early reporting is key to protecting one of Wales’ last red squirrel strongholds.
Stay alert.
Our red squirrels are endangered, Penrhos has red squirrels, so why would anyone want to destroy the home of endangered red squirrels?
Developers/speculators ? But not Harri and Zach the 2 boys running 20 miles in April to #SavePenrhos ( and their friend Bertie who’s joined as he loves penrhos too ) or the local community or @RedSquirrelsinW or visitors who catch that flash of red in Penrhos woods!
