RIP Freddie 😢
Sending our deepest condolences to the family and friends of 9 year old Gresford Athletic FC player Freddie Pritchard who sadly passed away unexpectedly on his way back from a family holiday.
Freddie has touched so many hearts and was a huge football fan. He supported many international/ European football teams especially his home town Wrexham and Liverpool FC. The football community has been absolutely amazing holding a minutes silence and applause.
A message from Matt, his coach:
“Freddie was a well-loved member of the team and was developing into a good footballer with a fierce left foot, who scored lots of goals for us.
The coaches, players and parents will all miss Freddie dearly, but he will always be with us in our hearts and he won't be forgotten.”
A fundraiser has been started to help towards the cost of Freddie’s funeral, with donations also being given to the Cheshire Ambulance Service, the Countess of Chester Hospital and the Alder Hey Snowdrop suite.

Well what a season and saw us win the league yesterday with a 2-2 draw against Blackmore. Can’t say how proud of the lads us coaches and parents are, onto another season with a new manager, from the coaching staff. #coysreds
We don’t even know where to start with writing this post. If you do one thing today please read, share and send a message to Charlie in the Comments.
Having been unwell for a few weeks, 13 year old cheeky & smiley Charlie, under 14 player from Weedon Football Club received the worst possible news on Friday. We are devastated to share (with his permission) that his results on 16/6/23 confirmed he has a rare and aggressive sarcoma which is incurable.
Many friends are asking what they can during this heart breaking time, so one option is to help Luke, Karen and Maddie his sister to fill the time that Charlie has left with lots of fun, laughter and happy memories.
Donating will enable the family to spend quality time together fulfilling Charlie’s bucket list, ensuring he has all the experiences he wishes for. The Just Giving link is in the comments below.
Great game today against @byronredstarfc1 u15 at home, after going a goal down early on we went ahead 2-1, second half chances missed saw us concede goals to lose 4-2. 2 great sides played some great football today. Boys should be proud on both teams. 👍💯
Great game today against @intersports_fc u14s. We had only 10 players inc a few carrying injuries today, and held on at 1-0 down to draw level. Thought we would get the draw but we conceded 2 more, away managers said we were unlucky and deserved more today.
This just shows that no matter what life may throw at you to never give up, there are ways to overcome any problems we face, maybe not easy at first but we can with help from our family and friends. Every challenge no matter what can be overcome to make us all a better person 😍
