From active developer about the future of Amulet:

"For the past two years I have been rewriting Amulet from the ground up. The libraries are now in C++ for better speed and parallelization and the new Qt based app gives much more control over the UI. There is still work to do before the rewrite fully replaces the current version, but experimental builds can be released soon if funding continues."
