#DomesticAbuse affects at least 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men in the UK. We provide safe, confidential support for everyone in #Oxfordshire at high risk through abuse. Please support our work - every penny makes a difference! https://t.co/THG8talQB7
Every trained #DAChampion is another step towards a safer and more informed community.
Yesterday, a passionate group from Oxfordshire completed their training, gaining the skills to support, educate, and empower those impacted by #DomesticAbuse.
💡 Knowledge saves lives.
According to @ReducingRiskDA approx 25% of LGBTQ+ people have experienced #domesticabuse from partners/ex-partners. @GalopUK found that 61% of #survivors did not seek #support & 41% not knowing support was available.

Honoured to be appointed as Minister for Women & Equalities.
Having managed a women’s refuge before entering Parliament, I know how important the portfolio is.
The brief is vital to Labour’s mission to break down the barriers to opportunity.
I can’t wait to get started.
Anneliese Dodds MP @AnnelieseDodds has been appointed Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office @FCDOGovUK.
She has also been appointed Minister for Women and Equalities in the Department for Education @educationgovuk.
She will attend Cabinet.
What a day we have had @oxfordpride ! Thank you to the so very many of you who chatted with us, took some leaflets, told us your stories and considered becoming DA Friends, each one of you makes a difference 💜
I’m in sticker duty for @ReducingRiskDA today @oxfordpride! Oxford has the UK’s third largest ‘non straight’ community and the UK’s largest trans and non-binary population outside of London, but a disproportionate number of LGBTQ+ access domestic abuse support 💜
We’re at @oxfordpride today! If you have more than 3 friends, statistically one of them will be a victim of domestic abuse at some point. Come say hi and learn how to support them (and get a sticker!) 💜
It was a pleasure to discuss our work with you including our 1-1 support for high risk victims, those going through the court process, and our Domestic Abuse Champions and Friends projects. Thank you for your support!
Great to meet the team @ReducingRiskDA last week to hear more about the important work they do to support victims of domestic abuse in #Oxfordshire and beyond.
@VictoriaPrentis It was a pleasure to discuss our work with you including our 1-1 support for high risk victims, those going through the court process, and our Domestic Abuse Champions and Friends projects. Thank you for your support!
Banbury MP Victoria Prentis has praised the work done by a local domestic violence charity. https://t.co/TYbjxU4w6L

We're conducting a survey on the understanding of domestic abuse within Minoritised Communities. Please fill out the survey and share it with all your contacts so we can gather as many respondents as possible. This survey will only take about 5 minutes! https://t.co/pAvm1E3Hx9
Domestic abuse destroys lives. Support for victims is vital and earlier this week I was delighted to present awards to some of those providing that support. There are more than 4,000 Domestic Abuse Champions across Thames Valley supporting the work of @ReducingRiskDA. 🏆
Today the @bucks_safety DA Team were presented with the ‘Champion of Champions’ award by @ReducingRiskDA, presented by @matthew_barber the TV Police and Crime Commissioner. Reducing the Risk celebrate 20 years since they started the champion’s model at their conference today!
That’s a wrap on #RtRChamps20! We go away buzzing with new information, the knowledge of why we do this, and the powerful network of people we are connected to. Happy 20 years RtR Champions! 💜
Help us understand this chronically under-researched area by taking our survey. Open to all. We want to provide services that suit the needs of everyone, your answers will help us do that. 🌈 #RtRChamps20

RtR performance and quality officer Hannah is up last. “Oxford City has the third largest “non straight” community, and the UK’s largest trans and non binary population outside of London. We have a disproportionately low number of LGBTQ+ people accessing our services. Why?”
