@choptalkbraves You can’t be too dumb to realize that when a bullpen has to cover 6 innings, they might need a low leverage arm to cover a few innings, are you? Truly some of the most unintelligent takes on this app.
@ChoppinBravos@BeaneaterB Always predictable. 8 game hitting streak and .850+ OPS the last 15 games, but if we extrapolate it out to an arbitrary point in time, we can say he’s struggling right now!
@AJg2114@dannykanell I don’t think they’re a shoe-in to win by any means, but this is absolutely the deepest team they’ve ever had in terms of talent and experience. That said, as an Oregon fan, I fully expect it to not work out.
@AJg2114@dannykanell The defense wasn’t nearly at the level of this one with Bo. If it had been, that team could very well have won one. Lanning was still building up the talent on that defense, particularly in the secondary. Last year’s team was much younger and lacked experience.
@BA_in_SC@geoffschwartz Yes, these guys are definitely going to those schools with low NIL budgets, and not the schools flush with cash and talent like LSU.
@BravesStash@MichaelVG19 Also he gets nearly a run less run support than Sale, and less run support than Perez. Elder is the same. Again, insinuating the offense is picking up their slack is also misleading. Both he and Elder get about 4.5 runs/game, which isn’t a crazy amount
@BravesStash@MichaelVG19 I hate to break it to you, but FIP doesn’t mean actual runs, so the offense needed is unrelated to FIP. He has an above average ERA and is just a shade under 5 IP per start. He’s not an ace by any means, but the insinuation he’s an automatic loss is nonsense.
@HooVApolitics I love Ronald, but does it feel like a safe bet to give him a large contract extension right now? Could wind up being Trout 2.0, and I’m talking about the current iteration of Trout with the injuries. Hope not, but worried that could be the case.
@Wittman7@jro_27@terry_larg53755 Plus, it’s easier to trade away prospects when you know you can just tap into free agency again and outbid other teams when you have a hole to fill.
@Wittman7@jro_27@terry_larg53755 The surplus is because they don’t have to aggressively promote guys like smaller market teams, so they build up a stash of prospects. They’re also not on the same timeline and all won’t be successful major leaguers, so it can’t be viewed as 5 guys for 2 spots.
@Wittman7@jro_27@terry_larg53755 The Dodgers have that problem, because they signed free agents that block those prospects. Smaller markets have to hold on to prospects to replace the guys they can’t resign when bigger market teams swoop in.
