My new album, Christian Name, is out July 24. Writing and recording this album over the last two and a half years has been one of the most difficult, yet at the same time, most fulfilling experiences of my life.
Music and songwriting have always been my escape. This time, they became a path to healing and a means of glorifying God.
I truly cannot wait to share this album with the world, and I hope it helps someone out there the same way it helped me.
Thank y’all for all the love and support. LET’S GO!

Lonely Mountain Town is out now! Very proud of this collection of songs, and I’m excited to finally share them with y’all. It was a cathartic experience for me to record these songs while on the road last year. I hope you enjoy this EP as much as I enjoyed making it.

It’s been 1 year today since Family Ties was released. That album was a journey, unlike any other, from pen to paper all the way until it’s release day. It’s been an incredible ride this past year seeing how much it’s connected with y’all around the country. And to that point, thank y’all so much for listening. Cheers to Family Ties!
In celebration of 100M streams, we're releasing this limited edition maroon/gold Family Ties vinyl! Available now in the online store:

RIP Corky. The best music journalists are historians, they are honest, and most importantly, they don’t give a shit. @michaelcorcoran had all of those qualities, and the latter in spades. Every great scene has a great critic, and when Austin was Austin, it was @michaelcorcoran.
Sad news tonight. @michaelcorcoran has died. Michael was a one-of-a-kind music critic for many years here in Austin and elsewhere and was a gadfly in the very truest journalistic sense of the word. He knew everybody and everything about everybody and was such a badass that even to be an object of his scorn --- and many were such objects --- was somehow special. I saw him at a Shinyribs show in early May but I spoke with him on the phone less than two weeks ago when he called to tell me that he'd heard Jewel Brown was ailing.
Michael was also a scholar: his books "All Over the Map" and "Ghost Notes" are two of the best books ever written about Texas music. I crib from them for Traces of Texas all the time, shamelessly. I told him so and he said "I wouldn't have it any other way." He was racing to finish a third book, to be published in early September, about Austin music history. His essays on all manner of Texas music were definitive.
One of y'all wrote something that stuck with me, which is that, when somebody dies, we lose a library. With Michael's death, we're losing not just a library but a museum. I am heartbroken. Damn.
RIP Corky.
