We thank the Employment and Social Development Canada, Government of Canada, for completing the regulatory process to provide a supplemental $150 payment to all Canada Disability Benefit recipients to help offset the costs of obtaining the Disability Tax Credit (DTC). @ESDC_GC

This important step helps reduce financial barriers and makes it easier for more Canadians with disabilities to access the supports they deserve.

At Reena, we believe that removing barriers is essential to building inclusive communities. It reflects our CLEAR values of Accessibility—removing barriers—and Respect—honouring the humanity, dignity, and potential of every individual. We appreciate the Government of Canada's continued commitment to strengthening the Canada Disability Benefit and improving access to vital supports for people with disabilities.

We look forward to the implementation of these changes on September 1, 2026, and to seeing the supplemental payments begin later that month.

It was a pleasure to showcase our Battle Centre, the Lou Fruitman Reena Residence, and present our future Community Health Centre while discussing some of the most pressing issues facing the developmental services sector. Together, we explored the growing need for innovative supportive housing, stronger integration between health and developmental services, and collaborative approaches to meeting the increasingly complex needs of individuals and families.

We are grateful for the Ministry's ongoing partnership and support. Meaningful progress happens when service providers, researchers, and government work together to develop practical, evidence-informed solutions that improve lives.
