Idc what anybody says. Paying people for engagement was the worst change this platform ever made.

1 it turned posting into a money game instead of actual conversation so now everything is optimized for clicks, outrage, and replies.

2 it created an ecosystem full of engagement farming, bots, reply spam, and straight up misinformation because that’s what the system rewards.

3 once money got involved it was obvious they’d have to start nerfing payouts and throttling reach so they don’t bleed cash, which is exactly what we’re seeing now.

4 all these changes just push engagement to the same top accounts while everyone else gets buried, so now the top 10 percent can post low effort garbage and still dominate while replies are nothing but bots and farming accounts.

5 the whole timeline and reply section quality dropped because people started posting unrelated clips and bait just to farm impressions.

6 the new 90 percent impression cut is just another patch for a problem they created in the first place.

7 now they’re stuck in a loop where they fix one farming method and ten more pop up. It’s the same situation as never fully stopping adblockers or never stopping piracy. One company is not beating millions of people trying to game the system.
