We aim to motivate fellow San Franciscans to take actions needed to clean our streets, beautify our neighborhoods, and encourage others to join our cause.
Be sure to check out our blog post to get some context around our purpose.
Remember, all I am offering is the truth (about trash in SF)

Hot off the @USMNT win today, 35 fans of clean streets came out and got another W for the neighborhood at the Clement Street Happy Hour Cleanup.
Let’s hope all this pride for our country’s team bleeds into our communities. 31 cleanups this weekend in San Francisco to join.
Another great cleanup with the team from @GlumacEngineers@TetraTech who fanned out from their offices in the Financial District to pick up litter downtown.
Yet, it doesn’t take an engineer to figure out that cleanups work and help keep the environment clean.
Conditions are looking cleaner in Cow Hollow this afternoon.
Thank you to the 9 volunteers that collected 11 bags of garbage and helped keep the neighborhood & local environment clean.
Join @RefuseRefuseSF & community partners at Boeddeker Park (246 Eddy Street) on Sunday, 6/21 from 1-2PM for an I Love Tenderloin Week neighborhood cleanup. Volunteers will help pick up litter in the surrounding area, w/ all supplies provided & no experience necessary.
Nice turnout and mix of people at the Rise & Grind Cleanup this morning in the Inner Richmond.
Both new and returning volunteers who spread out picking up litter in the neighborhood, then came back for coffee and great conversations.
Cleanups are the best!
@mernit And 31 scheduled neighborhood cleanups this weekend. Not anything special, just what we do. Hopefully you’re noticing cleaner streets than 2018. https://t.co/kTSSuz5RxL
@EricaJSandberg And it’s the cleanup capital of the US with dozens of neighborhood cleanups every week, and it’s starting to show. Join in! https://t.co/kTSSuz5RxL
@KQEDForum We organize neighborhood cleanups and the #1 reaction from new volunteers is “I didn’t know so many people still smoked, there are so many cigarette butts!”
Why do smokers not consider littering their cigarette butts (which are made of plastic) litter?
Thank you to the @GSNorCal troops at Camp Ida Smith who learned from the SF Trash Talk then out that into action cleaning up around Lake Merced.
No matter the age, community service and keeping our environment clean is ageless.
The Japanese show us the way to a clean San Francisco, we just have to follow their lead.
SF is leading the charge in the U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A! Join in and participate in neighborhood cleanups: https://t.co/kTSSuz5RxL
It was another weekend in SF, which means volunteers were out in force again to keep our shining city clean.
525 people removed 550 bags of trash from our neighborhoods and public spaces. Still much to be done - so join in, keep showing up, bring friends, and spread the word!
@devahaz Join a neighborhood cleanup. Guaranteed to discover a few interesting people even doing a seemingly boring activity of picking up litter. https://t.co/kTSSuz5RxL
@mil000 Sidewalks looking top notch thanks to the weekly NB Cleanup at Luke’s Loval to the left of the pic. All are welcome every Saturday 11-12. https://t.co/iiq2rvq2bU
Big thank you to the @SFGiants for hosting some of our most dedicated cleanup organizers and volunteers on #pride night.
Couldn’t quite get the W, but we’re the comeback city. We take pride in keeping the environment clean, that’s just what we do.
Let’s go SF! Let’s go Giants!
Well said Becca, our Trashy Community is right there alongside you at the SUPER FUN trash pickups!
Looking forward to One City Day volunteering with fellow San Franciscans citywide on July 11!
