๐ฌ๐ฏ๐ช๐จ๐ฉ๐ต ๐ช๐ฏ ๐ด๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ข๐ณ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณ; (๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฏ): an idealised or chivalrous man who comes to the rescue in a difficult situation.
There was something incredible about her.
Her words were angry, as she deserved, but still โ to have her tease him, as if nothing had changed. . . it felt good.
Continuing to narrow her eyes at him as he seemed to impose and attempted to weasel his way back into her life, Aalish scoffed and chuckled, shaking her head.
โWould it surprise you so much to believe that I'm no longer 12 anymore and I have my โด๐๐ place now~ surprise! So +
โI would never do anything to bring you any harm, Miss Thompkins!โ He argued through a laugh, but smiled โ wide and strong โ as she continued to tease him.
โYou go rest. If you need me, you call for me,โ he said, leaning his head down towards hers. โAnd do not hesitate. I will be there, should you call for me.โ
Alaric wanted to argue โ to say that it was his job to keep to protect her, to keep Camelot from men such as the one who hurt her.
It was his job โ and he needed to make her aware. For why should someone harm the woman he loved? How dare they?
Exhaling softly as she looked over to Alaric, blankets in hand to prepare his space, the woman shook her head once more.
โEnough with such words Alaric, I've already told you that you are a priority to me in your own right, have I not? Your comfort is of concern to me, and +
Though, once she showed off where he would sit and stand guard, he smiled. His hand reached out again, and he grabbed her upper arm softly.
โI will be fine. I stand on the castle walls overnight on guard all the time; I will be perfectly happy with this.โ
he giftโwraps self-sacrifice and calls it love; he has never known how to love any other way. he has never given his heart in scraps โ it has always been laid bare๏ผ whole and beating๏ผ on the altar.
"I will walk you home, yeah, if I'm allowed. Don't tell me โ are you still at your parent's place on Earlsfield Drive?" Alaric asked, a sweet head tilt given as he smirked at her.
"Nine, right. At half-eight, I'm going to be getting
r e a l l y ready to go, so. . ."
From her ribbing, to her very *genuine* compliment, he knew she couldn't be failing completely. For Aalish, like himself, had grown, and had grown. . .
rather too beautiful.
โOh, yes; it is what you are, isn't it? Preppy boy from Eton? The one who got too . . . grand for us, hm?โ Aalish questioned, her face in close proximity to his own as she glanced about the features of his face, taking him in.
He'd certainly ( obviously ) gotten older, and +
"I am sorry this has happened to you."
The words were quiet, and came from nowhere. "You should not care about my comfort when you are ailing as you are."
If this was mere puppy love and nothing more, Alaric didn't know if he would be able to handle anything further. For a puppy love could not handle the depth of his feelings; the serious and overarching smitten care he had for her.
The gesture was quick and unexpected, and soon enough, Aalish was stumbling a bit against the knight's armor. A gasp left her lips as she was certain she'd fall into his lap but he held her quite sturdily as he expressed what seemed like a ๐ฃ๐๐ค to protect her.
โAlaricโ . . +
So, as Aalish told of her conditions, Alaric remained sat. He sat, and listened, and nodded โ giving the angelic, albeit wounded woman the attention she deserved.
