@caropchildress I agree with this. It is very heartbreaking #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Reparations: “Martin offered his entire estate - filled with black families, their hopes, and dreams, to Stephen A. Douglas - as a wedding gift” I honestly cant even try to grasp the concept of giving or receiving slaves (human beings) as a wedding gift #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Reparations: “the slave plantation would be put in Douglas’s wife’s name after her father passed away, giving Douglas plausible deniability if he was ever questioned about his ownership of enslaved people” This is quite simply just insane #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Reparations: “Hundreds of enslaved African American men, women, and children lived and died on that plantation to make the University of Chicago, and its $7 billion endowment, possible.” I never would have never known that slaves built this university. #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

@Huey_trex I agree with this. They were willing to die in order to better future generations with real change #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

The Square: It’s interesting how the dad doesn’t seem to support the Revolution. He says it’s only the poor who support it bc the rich are already free. Do you think older generations are so used to corruption that they don’t believe it’s possible for change? #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

The Square: Why did the army bring them from the square to the museum to beat and torture them? Do you think there is a significance or message the army is trying to relay to the people who participating in the revolution? #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

The Square: Mubarak stepping down is not enough for the people. They want real change from the regime and they believed that if they left the square Mubarak’s corrupt regime would continue to live on through the corrupt army. These people were correct #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

@worldhistoryau I agree with this! #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Dee: I find it interesting that rappers have such a big problem with this genre of music. Do you think they have a problem with it because it is so similar to rap music or because bounce music is very accepting of gays? #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Dee: “If you lived here, it became impossible to not know who she was” Being born and raised in New Orleans I can attest to this. Everyone knows who Big Freedia is because she has left her mark on New Orleans culture #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Dee: It was interesting to learn more about Big Freedia and this reading really shows how New Orleans is the foundation of her bounce music. To this day, she still performs at Jazz Fest every year and has performed several consective years in a row. #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

@BrodyOBrien5 I agree with this. It’s a little bit scary how fast technology is advancing and makes me wonder what kind of problems that will arise from it in the future #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Neoliberalism: I found it interesting that neoliberalism is the reason corporate capitalists are able to buy elections legally instead of under the table as corruption #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Neoliberalism: do you think immigration was a good way or a bad way to to make domestic labor competitive with global labor? #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Neoliberalism: “universities were impossible to organize because the student movement www too strong and faculty too liberal-minded”. Do you agree that this is why universities were impossible to organize or could there have been other reasons? #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

@Leelee22hist I thought this also. It was interesting to see that this is how they received messages #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Kubric: I think it is interesting how the president had no idea what plan R consisted of. As the president, he probably should’ve known what was going on but he was clueless and unsure of how to react to this situation #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Kubric: It is interesting how the film seems to prioritize women over the nuclear war that the United States is declaring on Russia. The women are portrayed promiscuously and the men are focused on them rather than their jobs #AuburnWorldHistory

[Brie Reginelli @RegBrie]

Kubric: The general says “war is too important to be left to politicians”The general oversteps his position and essentially declares nuclear war himself. I’m not really sure how this was possible, but he made sure there was no way for the planes to turn around #AuburnWorldHistory
