Trust in our Single Market depends on trusted online marketplaces.
Consumers shouldn’t have to worry about counterfeit, unsafe or illegal products ending up on their doorstep. This is what the DSA is meant to do - keep safety standards online.
We've fined AliExpress €550 million for breaching its obligations under the Digital Services Act.
The company failed to assess and mitigate risks related to the sale of illegal, unsafe, or counterfeit products on its e-commerce platform.

Europe’s businesses shouldn’t face 27 different banking markets. A more competitive, integrated banking sector will unlock investment, strengthen competitiveness, and help finance Europe’s strategic priorities. Badly needed. Let’s get to it.
We want to create a single, more competitive market in banking.
Our new report shows the way ahead for a more integrated banking sector that can unlock the capital to power Europe's strategic priorities, including innovation, the clean transition, and defence ↓
Building on my Report on Generational Renewal published in May, I have specifically called for a minimum of 10% of the CAP budget to be ringfenced for a range of supports under national Young Farmer Starter Packs.

20 years ago, I worked for Gay Mitchell MEP on the DEVE Committee, learning why development & humanitarian aid matter so much to Christian Democrats.
Today, I returned to present Ireland's Presidency priorities.
Our main priority is to save the development system. 🇮🇪 🇪🇺
Excellent article from @higginsdavidw . This @FineGael Councillor at least is in agreement. 50th anniversary of @EPP provides opportunity to reflect on our political tradition - of the European Christian Democratic centre-right - and its potential amswers to today's issues.
Ireland has a real opportunity over the next six months to help shape the future of Europe 🇮🇪🇪🇺
Good to meet Tánaiste Simon Harris and fellow Irish MEPs in Brussels this morning to discuss the priorities for Ireland’s EU Presidency & the work ahead.

Today in Bruxelles addressing the General Affairs Council 🇪🇺 on the plan One Europe One Market. Creating ONE Market instead of the present 27 in energy, connectivity, and finance is the key to be competitive with 🇨🇳 and 🇺🇸. @delorsinstitute@iespega@ieuniversity@AgenziaAREL
Children are asking for a safer online world.
We asked Europeans aged 12–17 for their views on apps, websites, games & social media:
🚸80% support rules for loot boxes
🚸78% support age limits
🚸48% want controls on features like infinite scroll

We need age-appropriate restrictions on platforms.
This is not about whether children can access social media.
It is about when social media can access our children.

Jackie Fox lost her daughter, Nicole "Coco," after three years of relentless online and offline bullying.
When Jackie took the evidence to the police, she was told no crime had been committed.
She refused to give up. She campaigned, met every political leader in Ireland, and helped make cyberbullying a crime through ‘Coco's Law’ - protecting thousands of children.
Nicole's story is not an isolated tragedy. 1 in 3 children experience online bullying - and 1 in 3 never report it out of fear or shame.
"We want to fight to have ‘Coco's Law’ at the European level as well - that we are protecting our children online today", says @ManfredWeber.
