WINNERS ANNOUNCED IN 3 HOURS :D
@thequartering Vivian has always presented as a girl, has always had a female presenting name, and was insulted by Beldam by being called a man. All in the original Japanese. The 2004 English localization *censored* these aspects. This is much closer to the original intent
@Majinken1987@not__vee What do you mean it was cut? It was censored from the original Japanese in 2004. Beldam always insulted Vivian by calling her a man. Vivian also has a female name, so that's more than just crossdressing. The *current* Japanese localization supports that idea and English matches
@not__vee The gender wasn't fucking "ambiguous". Vivian so clearly presents as a girl that the original English translation changed her entire dynamic with her sisters from them calling her a man, to them calling her ugly. There's nothing ambiguous about it.
Guys stop DM-ing me this.
I know it's shocking that the progressives forced their gender ideology in a video game and are now worshiping this picture like the Messiah.
But really it's not surprising, they can't help themselves.
They know their ideology is vastly unpopular so they have to sneak it in your house somehow.
@floresesa51588@p9cker_girl True. But with some context clues like Vivian (to my knowledge) being a girls name and Beldam calling Vivian a *man* to insult her in the original Japanese version of the game, to me that seems more like Vivian is trans than simply *just* crossdressing.
@p9cker_girl These come from Goombella's tattle ability which isn't *objective*. Vivian has always presented herself as a girl. Why do you think the English translation censored the entire issue and just went with calling her a girl? Besides, the whole point is: Mario accepts her
@MasteroftheTDS The *original* localization wasn't correct. People can argue about whether Vivian is trans or a femboy, at the very least this IS more faithful to the original Japanese *intention*. Vivian was born a boy, and presents as a girl. Mario accepts Vivian.
@Nick_Marseil Y'know what's crazy? Even if it's true that people just "don't want to make it" that's their choice to make. No amount of shaming is going to change the fact people don't want to do it. It also isn't your place to tell other people whether their argument is genuine or not
@nosleep1138 "Deal with it" But people *are* dealing with it. They're voicing that they don't like it, that they're not going to play the game. If this decision from Sony kills the player base then *you* will just have to "deal with it" for not treating the concerns legitimately

@Mertvyi_ It's an unrealistic expectation to put that responsibility on a streamer. They don't control people. All they can do is say "hey don't go harass people" beyond that it's individual responsibility
@Mertvyi_ So if we put the blame for that on Bao then when fans of the streamer Caseoh go into people's stream going "lmao you look like Caseoh" we need to hold Caseoh responsible for that?
@Mertvyi_ Yeah they brought it up for no reason as Bao never joked about people with that illness. People who are fat to the extent of what is shown in inflation and the "baoberry" memes are absolutely at an unhealthy weight. Are you trying to say they aren't? Or that it's wrong to say?
@Mertvyi_ Here's the tweet. They brought up their illness straight away alongside an image of Bao. That's why I said Bao's joke isn't directed at her illness. Her illness was not being directed to with what Bao was doing.
