We are saved by Grace and while we are responsible for our Salvation your suggestion that somehow praying for others cannot assist in their Salvation is inconsistent with Scripture and Catholic Theology.

The Apostles asked that their contemporaries pray for them:

(1) James 5:16

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful.”

(2) Ephesians 6:18

“With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones.”

(3) Romans 15:30

“I urge you, [brothers,] by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in the struggle by your prayers to God on my behalf,”

Our Lord exhorts us to pray for others:

(4) Matthew 5:44

“But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you.”

(5) Luke 6:28

“bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you”

As does Our Lady of Fatima:

“Pray, pray much, and sacrifice for sinners, for many souls go to hell because there is no one to sacrifice and pray for them.”

So, I would absolutely take exception to your suggestion that Our Lady’s observation about prayer and sacrifice is contrary to Scripture or Theology.

And I hope you appreciate your prayers and sacrifices can assist others on the road to Salvation.
