Llegó el día… todo iba perfecto.
El chico estaba viviendo el mejor momento de su vida conociendo a Iñaki.

Cuando quiso sacar el celular para la foto… no lo encontró.

Lo había dejado en el Uber.
Como estaban con Iñaki, fingió que no importaba.
Ella les tomó la foto con su teléfono y Iñaki se fue.

En cuanto se quedaron solos, él cambió por completo.
La culpó de ser “tan descuidada” (cuando la responsabilidad era 100% suya).

Saliendo de la Apple Store ella bromeó:

Jamás le dio las gracias.

Esa misma noche ella tenía boletos regalados para el Corona Capital (su artista favorita).
Él estaba tan molesto que la ignoró toda la tarde y ni se acordó de llevarla.

Dieron las 8 pm… hora exacta en que empezaba el concierto.

Ella pasó la noche llorando en la cocina, pensando que lo que empezó como una sorpresa hermosa se convirtió en el peor día de su vida 😭

Él la encontró llorando y le preguntó: “¿Qué tienes?”, sin acordarse del festival.

Al final dijo que sí la llevaría…
“Con que alcances a ver 1 canción, ya con eso estás del otro lado”.

Y así terminó la relación.

Just finished Expedition 33…

While I’m someone who doesn’t buy into hype, even hating this game specifically for being shoved in my face. I completely understand now. Enough that I’m also gonna shove this game in all your faces! My first post before starting read “Her look had a story with a heavy weight and one that I urgently needed to hear.” and little did I know that wouldn’t be the only thing that stuck with me…

I’ve been trying to figure out the words to use as I played and repeatedly came back to the word love. From the start, I felt the monolith sized passion Sandfall poured into every crevice of this. I’ve never once felt so much pure love radiating from a game that it truly felt tangible through the controller. This was not a game built to satisfy anyone’s wallet but a game that respected the developers craft, the player, and most importantly what video games could be again.

It’d be hard to only choose a few things that stuck out. I mean from the combat, the environments, the music, the art, the performances, the story, and the characters… there’s not a thing that doesn’t own space in my heart for the rest of my life. It was perfect. But Maelle… she didn’t just find a place in my heart, she took over it. There’s no universe I wouldn’t tear apart to keep her safe and happy. Well… there’s a canvas I wouldn’t tear apart…

I still can’t hold my tears back knowing the first run is over. This game is special. So special that it’s become one of 3 games I could recommend to absolutely anyone, no matter who you are. There’s truly something here for everybody. So if you haven’t, please, I urge you to drop everything and play this immediately.

To all the voice actors from the main crew to the journal logs and the phenomenal people at Sandfall, thank you so so much with all my heart for this once in a lifetime experience. To call it a pleasure would be selling them short but there aren’t enough words for it. This absolutely is the game of the decade.🫶🏼

Before I post my review tomorrow I wanted to share what I meant. Sorry its a bit heavy🥲

As a writer who chose to run from the world, the idea of losing myself to my creations is one that I’m living right now. My reality, my real life, the world around me… it doesn’t mean much to me… and going back to that scares me far more than losing myself to my writing. It’s a very real fear to know how neglectful I am of “real life”.

But my reality IS my writing. It’s the life I always dreamed of living. Whether it amounts to anything or not, it’s honest and it’s terrifyingly real because IM living it.

Just like Maelle. She knew the cost but knew what “real life” had waiting for her. She chose the place where she was alive. The reasons why we all create will always be different. Hers was grief and mine, a sense of belonging. No matter the reason though, what you believe to be reality through your art is what makes your life real. #Expedition33
