I think there could also be a massive bias, as less beautiful buildings and object simply do not exist anymore. What people see from today in 100 years is probably also just the most beautiful buildings from our time.

@smartereveryday I think there is more factors at play here than google choices. (1) the internet does contain a lot less original, well written content.
(2) our ideas what good search is drastically increased, especially now with llms
