Last Friday, 7:30 to 8 PM — Thousands across Manipur's five valley districts banged utensils, beat drums, struck electric poles and honked horns,Called by the Federation of Haomee.

One message: the government is NOT listening.

Then on Saturday, a day after the noise, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh announced a committee of all 36 communities for peace.

Manipur Unrest🚨

Manipur has bled for over 3 years: Meitei vs Kuki-Zo ethnic conflict, hundreds dead, tens of thousands displaced.

Now 3 Meitei villagers, Arubam Ronil, Lairenlakpam Inaobi and Kshetrimayum Sushil, were shot dead collecting firewood. 3 suspects held.

Meira Paibis, Manipur's women torchbearers, took to the streets.

Forces then raided a designated Kuki camp. Only 1 of 159 registered cadres was there.

Kuki-Zo groups say their civilians are dying too.

Every community is grieving.

Ground Report: Pasighat Violence🛑

Arunachal Pradesh: Youth protests against the 11,200 MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project turned violent Friday night.

A POLICE STATION, NHPC office and seven vehicles were set ablaze. Homes of BJP MLAs Ninong Ering and Oni Panyang, and of BJP state chief Kaling Moyong, were ransacked.

The Adi communities whose land sits in the dam zone were never convinced, and Medog's actual impact on the Siang remains uncertain.

The key demand: release 10 anti-dam activists, four under APUAPA.

On October 13, Chief Minister Pema Khandu agreed to withdraw FIRs and scale down security. Reports say he also promised their release.

The government calls it "only a survey", yet deploys CENTRAL ARMED FORCES. It promises "public consensus", then puts up barricades.

Arson is indefensible. So is a broken promise.
