@ViralNewsNYC Did you ever take the old abandoned subway tour where you had to enter the manhole by I think Trader Joe’s? The guy who found/ran it died.
@technolichap@sjmurdoch@i2cjak Your ISP can see your internet traffic or a regime can shut down the internet. You can listen to a radio without leaving a trail/trace.
@extacy1375@DawnsMission I recently asked the pest control guy at my house what the special tick treatment they charge extra to spray around the property perimeter for ticks and mosquitoes is and he said it’s basically just essential oils. He said it doesn’t work that well.
@Austen I worked across the water in LIC and would, from the roof, listen to their radio frequency while watching on binoculars. It was a very cool work lunch activity.
@DavidNo22762324@NicoPerrino Their evening plans were to be unexpectedly stranded in their hotel after a traumatic experience after liquor store closing hours? It’s not insane to grab a roadie.
@jay_CLTweather@uncledoomer Pretty sure I already follow on YouTube. Stumbled upon from ham radio content. NOAA DXing is a super niche radio hobby. What’s your favorite weather radio if you only had one?
@lawrencelkso@ABluntPenguin@peppercoyote AM broadcast transmitters used to be much more powerful with old stories of music coming out of pots and pans and tooth fillings in nearby homes. In my home today I can set the doorbell off by transmitting ham radio on certain frequencies.
@KiloRomeoFour I think this also works when listening to a repeater. If you actually want to listen to FM broadcast I’ve had to tune to an unused frequency underneath.
