@37735i6 What he did was completely inappropriate and disrespectful, & reflects more on him than you. You handled it like a total pro. An unexpected error happened for a completely understandable reason, you recovered and moved on. Nobody should dwell on it, let alone make a scene.
@37735i6 4. I had to bite my tongue when that dude shouted his question—WTF!?!? If he was planning to quiz you down afterwards, he should have asked then, as part of the learning process. So rude!
5. I’m not a “pro”, but always happy to lend an ear if you need to vent/discuss.
@37735i6 3. In my experience, most people don’t know how to respond at the end of an ambient set. If there isn’t a clear “ta-da!” to wake ’em up, they usually miss it, or think more is coming. Personally, I was just deeply vibing and didn’t want it to end.

Important stats on AI music from @bennjordan, adding to the growing evidence that AI music is competing with the human music it's trained on.
- Of 560 top songs & staff picks on Suno, 549 (98%) are being monetized on streaming services
- These are often on Spotify account posing as verified human artists
- One track Benn shows has 688,000 plays. Just that one song has taken ~$2,000 from the Spotify royalty pool away from human artists.
- As of June 2024 there was a 15% increase in songs uploaded to Spotify vs. the previous year. The increase is coming mostly from 'independent musicians'. Sadly, lots of this is probably AI music.
There is an epidemic of AI slop on music streaming services, taking money from the artists whose work was used to train the AI models that generated it.
Once again - generative AI competes the work it's trained on, and the people behind that work.

TREMBLE WITH JOY: Born Trembling
"An album that impresses not only with its atmosphere, but also with its spontaneity and, over long stretches, microtonally oriented sonic depth."

"Surroundings 1" has been available at Mirlo for awhile, and you can still get it there if you prefer to support independent music distribution instead of Bandcamp: https://t.co/KV3r91ZzKY
I have finally released "Surroundings 1" on Bandcamp: https://t.co/txG4rcpk0o
This EP is encoded in QUARK (Quadraphonic Universally Accessible Resource Kit) so you can listen in stereo as-is or use a Regular Matrix decoder (or Dolby Pro Logic II) to listen in #quadraphonic.
