@procm2@DaddyisBest @msparentguru @jvbt82hhs@HomeWithPeanut The wonderful thing about technology is that we are able to support each other and encourage the world to see dads in a new and positive way. I have a busy schedule, but I will find the time to Zoom or FaceTime with anyone who needs a dad pep talk or Q&A. #dads#parenting
@DaddyisBest @msparentguru @procm2@jvbt82hhs@HomeWithPeanut Men may have not been programmed or conditioned to be naturally nurturing as mothers. I don't have any research to prove that. However, I have seen a number of dads step up and embrace their role and be as nurturing and loving as some of the moms I see.
@procm2 @msparentguru @DaddyisBest@jvbt82hhs@HomeWithPeanut I’ve spent years being the only dad or one of two at story time, swim lessons, the park in the mornings, and at medical appointments. The important part is to understand that you are making a connection & impact on your child that they will remember forever.
@procm2 It is also hard when you have multiple children. My 6 year old is great at doing new things on his own. However my 3 year old sometimes needs me to be there with him until he feels more comfortable. Have you been able to get any "why is school scary" answers?
@procm2 @msparentguru @DaddyisBest@jvbt82hhs@HomeWithPeanut I support any parent and parents who want to homeschool and if that is the best fit for your child, it may be easier and better to spend time and money on finding the resources to help you get help in the areas you need.
@procm2 Sometimes it is the fear of missing out on being home. Without having any psychology credentials, I can say that fears are better treated with a gradual positive process.
@procm2 @msparentguru @DaddyisBest@jvbt82hhs@HomeWithPeanut I have watched a dad try to do the quite forceful whisper to his daughter to get her to go to school and it didn't work. It is hard to realize that kids have many fears that may not be logical to us. Sometimes they fear the unknown
@msparentguru @procm2@DaddyisBest@jvbt82hhs@HomeWithPeanut Most dads have an ingrained belief that we need to "man up" & not have feelings. However, the 2nd reason is most women who provide services address their audience w/ "hey mamas" or "for all you moms..." which produces a feeling of being excluded & not welcomed. #parenting
