But Clark spent his whole life believing his Kryptonian parents sent him to Earth “to do the most good” and even tells Lois he thought they wanted him to ‘serve the people of Earth and be a good man’. So wasnt that itself one of the external influence that shaped Superman?

One thing I struggle to understand about the superman movie is that James Gunn says Superman is about Clark realising he isnt good because of an outside force, hes good because it’s his own choice…….

@DaveTheAnodite We could’ve gotten something really unique and it would’ve given the DCU a unique identity of its own but it’s just the same stuff we’ve seen in Marvel and Star Wars. Just really overdone.
