Em janeiro de cada ano o Estado sequestra seu carro e sua casa. Você pode pagar o resgate de uma vez ou dividir em parcelas mensais.

O resgate do carro se chama IPVA. O resgate da casa é o IPTU.

Tem gente que pensa que o dinheiro do IPVA vai para a “melhoria das ruas e estradas”.

Nana nina nina.

O dinheiro do IPVA vai para o caixa do estado. Os governos estaduais podem fazer o que quiserem com o seu dinheiro.

É a mesma coisa com o IPTU.

O imposto não foi criado para financiar "serviços prestados pelo Estado". Na verdade, o imposto surgiu assim:

Um bando de guerreiros chegou em uma fazenda. O chefe deles colocou a espada no pescoço do fazendeiro e anunciou: “a partir de hoje metade do que você colher é meu”

Com o passar do tempo os guerreiros viraram o “Estado” e o pagador dos impostos virou “contribuinte”.

A lógica continua a mesma.

O que justifica o imposto é simplesmente a capacidade que o Estado tem de cobrar e de te punir - tomar sua propriedade e até te prender - se você não pagar.

O dinheiro do seu IPTU ou IPVA pode virar uma ponte desnecessária e superfaturada, uma viagem ao exterior, uma banheira de hidromassagem ou um jantar com lagosta.

Entender a realidade é o primeiro passo para muda-la.
