The COVID-19 pandemic has left newcomer women's employment particularly vulnerable as they are highly represented in occupations not suitable for remote work (Borjas & Cassidy, 2020). Still, challenges persist even among those who are able to work from home.

A recent report by Statistics Canada outlines how newcomer women were disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Compared to both immigrant men and Canadian-born women, newcomer women experienced the most drastic drop in median entry wages.

Last weekend, members of our team travelled to Toronto to attend the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) Conference. We presented some of our research and received a best paper award in the Gender and Diversity in Organizations Division!
