Artifact of the Day!

This is a lawn edger from circa 1935, produced by Engel Products, Co. This one was donated by Jack M. Karriker Jr. whose father purchased it at a local garage sale.

Artifact of the Day!

Donated by Olin Mohr, this Physiology Hygiene and Sanitation book was for Kansas Primary schools, roughly ages 4 to 11. It was published in 1917 and has some really great illustrations!

Artifact of the Day!

This is another artifact from Dale and Mildred Hobbs, who together donated 1716 items! This one is an adorable wire dog sculpture that functions as a letter holder!

Artifact of the Day!

Donated by Shirley Ballard this black silk dress with black lace inserts was made around 1865 and bought by Mrs. Mary Byers for $25 (about $425 today). It has 55 Hooks and eyes, 17 stays, and an inner lining and inner belt.

Artifact of the Day!

This covered wagon was donated by Sharon DeVault. Her aunt Mary Jones was crowned queen of the Diamond Pow-Wow in 1946. Sharon also donated the outfits her aunt wore at the event, along with many photos and newspaper clippings of the event. Thank you Sharon!
