All you've done for the last 15 years is try to repeal, defund, deauthorize, and dismantle the Affordable Care Act with no alternative. No alternative. Give me a damn break.
Mike Johnson: "Let me look right into the camera and tell you very clearly: Republicans are the ones concerned about healthcare. Republicans are the party working around the clock everyday to fix healthcare. This is not talking points for us: we've done it."
This morning, on National Gun Violence Awareness Day, I joined @RepLucyMcBath and my colleagues on @HouseJudiciary for a critical conversation on gun violence prevention.
We owe it to our communities to meet this crisis with the urgency it deserves.
Trump is raiding funds meant for our national parks to pay for his lavish Fourth of July celebrations.
Don’t get me wrong - we should celebrate in a meaningful way this year, but our national parks are our treasures. We need them to be maintained for many generations to come.
While in the State Senate, I was proud to help pass comprehensive gun safety laws for Vermont. I couldn't have done it without the inspiring example of @GabbyGiffords.
It was a wonderful surprise to run into her today, and a pleasure to thank her for her leadership.
I just voted to stop our taxpayer dollars from fueling Netanyahu’s attacks in Lebanon that have killed hundreds of civilians and displaced over a million people.
Both Netanyahu and Trump have continued to double down on chaos and conflict, leaving the American people to foot the bill at a time when they can’t even afford the basics—rent, groceries, prescriptions, or gas. Congress must draw the line.
To me, Pride Month is for all of us. Whether you’re in the LGBTQ community or not - everyone should be able to be their full and whole selves in this country.
In the richest country in the world, it’s simply unacceptable for so many Americans to not be able to afford their daily lives.
Congress’ priorities are so screwed up right now.
🚨 NEWS: The House has **passed** a war powers resolution to rein in President Donald Trump over the war in Iran.
Four Republicans vote with Democrats to pass it: Davidson, Massie, Barrett and Fitzpatrick.
The vote was 215 to 208.
Due process protects all of us, not just the accused.
This administration has tried to play judge, jury, and sometimes executioner – killing Americans like Renee Good and Alex Pretti and bombing boats in the Caribbean without verification.
They can’t be trusted.
Another day, another example of Pete Hegseth restricting press access at the Pentagon.
The free press must be able to ask questions and demand receipts about what our nation’s military is doing in our name. The American people deserve that transparency.
Let’s talk about Delaney Hall in Newark, NJ.
Right now, human beings are being held in terrible conditions because a private company wants to cut corners on food and medical care to maximize profits from their billion dollar government contract. DHS needs to let elected officials conduct oversight and we need to stop funding these atrocities.
Prices are through the roof for American families right now because of Trump’s illegal war in Iran. What does he have to say about negotiations that could bring that war to an end?
"I really don’t care. I couldn’t care less.”
Breaking News: President Trump named Bill Pulte, who runs a federal housing agency, to be the acting director of national intelligence, replacing Tulsi Gabbard. https://t.co/XtDvccl0ea
While it shouldn’t have gotten this far, this is welcome news. It shows that when Republicans in Congress tell Trump no, they can stop him.
Americans will judge them based on whether they use this power to stop Trump’s other disasters, like the war in Iran.
Happy Pride!
Even as our protections are being challenged and our stories censored, I want every person in the LGBTQ+ community to find an opportunity to celebrate their courage and strength this June.
Shoutout to @RepBeatty.
As an ex officio member of the Kennedy Center board, she sued over Trump’s move to name the cultural institution after himself and close it for “renovations” without the input of the American people… and she won!
Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice are STILL covering up these files on behalf of the Epstein class.
We WILL get answers on Trump’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. The American people rightfully are demanding them.
Former Attorney General Pam Bondi declined to answer questions on President Trump’s involvement in the Epstein files, Democratic lawmakers say. https://t.co/7G5jvbHbJV
