State Rep Stephen Bloom (R-Cumberland). Serving the citizens of PA's 199th district thru 11/30/18. Live-posted my floor votes on each #PAHouse bill since 2011.
Closing out my District Office, passing along the classic handmade wooden sign passed down from my predecessors in the 199th since the district was first moved to Cumberland county in 1982. #history
What a crazy adventure - it took me 2+ hours to drive from Capitol to WHP studio (normally 10 minutes or so) - thanks to the intrepid @AndrewLewisPA for transitioning seamlessly under pressure from guest to temporary host! #crisisaverted@KenMatthews@RJHarrisWHP580
@RepBloom and I couldn’t get to the @WHP580 studio in time for the 3 pm start of the Ken Matthews Show due to the weather, but Rep.-elect Andrew Lewis stepped in and saved the day! Great job, @AndrewLewisPA!
[with misty eyes] No further votes in the PA House...
That's it for me as a State Rep. Thanks everyone for 8 amazing years, for your engagement, for agreeing and for disagreeing, for caring about public policy in our Commonwealth.
Speaker (and 2019-20 Speaker Designee) Turzai just gaveled in what will be my final PA House session day. Not expecting votes on bills. We have memorial ceremonies for two deceased members, and a batch of farewell speeches from departing members.
Friday I had the honor of welcoming @ArmyWarCollege students (rising colonels) to #PACapitol. Lots of great questions & convo on state government, state/federal policy, separation of powers, federalism, civility and more. I'll miss representing @CarlisleBks when my term expires!
Anti-Semitism has absolutely no place in our commonwealth. Any attack on one community of faith in PA is an attack against every community of faith. I want the Jewish community to know that we stand in support of you as we together mourn this senseless act of violence.
Studies have shown cities without local investigative journalists are more likely to raise taxes and become more inefficient.
The “news deserts” can be found in urban, rural and suburban areas across the nation, but most have one common trait: Poverty. https://t.co/2LDol0jDUZ
https://t.co/C6kjCbarN9 Thank you, @MikeReganPA, for leading the charge on Senate Bill 6 - now signed into law by the Gov. of PA. Proud to have you as the voice for Pennsylvanians within the 31st District and beyond! Promises made, promises kept. #SB6#PAProud#ProtectingPA‼️🖋✔️
Pleased to see Lance Corporal Eddie Rykoskey’s picture on the front page top-of-the-fold. He was a young Marine from Carlisle who made the ultimate heroic sacrifice in 1966, in Vietnam. His name will soon be on the bridge near his childhood home, honoring his memory.
