We kicked off Saturday morning at Coach Jack Quarles Park for our 2nd Connected Communities event! It’s important to meet people where they’re at and strengthen the connections that make D1 special. Big thanks to Zach White Neighborhood Association! 👀 Next up: Montoya Heights!
In honor of Juneteenth, @ElPasoTXGov offices will be closed. This day marks a pivotal moment in our nation’s history—the arrival of freedom in TX. As we commemorate this milestone, may we do so with reflection, gratitude, and a shared commitment to liberty and justice for all.
Let’s keep this momentum going! If you see something that needs attention, be part of the solution:

A dead fallen tree at the corner of Artcraft & North Desert Blvd had become such an eyesore, it even showed up on Google Earth! 🪵🌍
Thanks to our partners at TxDOT, it was removed shortly after I personally reported it. ✅
Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads in our community. Your strength, love, and guidance shape our future every day. Thank you for all you do!

🚧 Your City at Work 🚧 Caught in action: our Streets & Maintenance crew laying down fresh striping on Westwind Dr. These improvements help keep our roads safe & accessible—just one of the many ways City teams are working hard every day to serve our community.

I’m grateful to hear that the @EPPOLICE officer injured in yesterday’s incident in District 1 is in stable condition and receiving care. I also want to thank all law enforcement personnel involved for their swift response and continued dedication to keeping our community safe.
It was a joy to welcome Matthew Medina and his family to City Hall for the first time! 🎓 As Canutillo HS valedictorian, UIL state champ & future MIT student, he’s a true District 1 success story. El Paso is proud of you, Matthew! 💫 #ElPasoProud#District1Strong#VivaCanutillo

Thanks to Rep. Cynthia Boyar Trejo for sponsoring the proclamation, officially declaring May 28, 2025 as Amigo Kidney Foundation Day in El Paso. So proud of this legacy of compassion and care. 🙏 #AmigoKidneyFoundation#ElPaso#District1inAction#LegacyOfService
Honored to support a special proclamation at today's City Council meeting recognizing the Amigo Kidney Foundation—founded by my father, Dr. Alfonso Chávez. Since 1988, this nonprofit has provided life-saving support to thousands battling kidney disease across our region.
