My office, like many Congressional offices across the country, received a suspicious envelope this morning.

My team has trained for all kinds of situations and I am happy to report everyone is safe. I am grateful to the Rockford Police and Fire Departments, as well as the FBI and Capitol Police for their swift and thorough response.

We cannot allow political violence or intimidation—of any kind—in our country.

So excited for @rvcgoldeneagles and the new opportunities for people in Downtown Rockford.

From automotive tech to law enforcement training, this is another example of doing it right in Rockford!

I was especially impressed speaking with a 17 year old student who turns 18 in just a few weeks and is excited to vote for the first time!

A “Diverging Diamond” is coming to IL-17! Soon, there will be no crossing traffic at the interchange of I-74 and John Deere Road. Instead, a more seamless flow of traffic that will keep us moving forward.

Team Sorensen was on hand for the official groundbreaking ceremony that will put hundreds of people to work and improve the commute for thousands of Quad Citizens.

As a Meteorologist, I know that disasters don’t discriminate blue states versus red states.

The purpose of a disaster declaration is to help families pick up the pieces and start on the path toward rebuilding their lives, and the mere idea that the Trump administration would play games with this is ridiculous.

I will keep fighting for the full recovery our families deserve.
