Today, I introduced the GATOR Act to direct a federal study into how outdated species rules are affecting the ability of local communities to remove dangerous, nuisance alligators from neighborhoods. 

The American alligator was removed from the endangered species list in 1987 and is now recognized as a fully recovered species.
