Radnor Road is a vital corridor for the City of Peoria.

I was proud to secure $1 million in FY26 and $500,000 in FY24 to support critical improvements along this route and help prepare the area for future growth and investment.

This project will create accommodations for pedestrians, improve traffic flow, and drive economic growth in our community.

I enjoyed joining local leaders from the Northern Illinois Council of Governments at R1 in Rockford this morning to go over upcoming infrastructure legislation and projects that will support growth in the region.

We had a productive discussion at their headquarters in Bloomington about the passage of the Farm Bill, which I was proud to support, ways to strengthen our biofuels industry, and policies that open new trade avenues.

This morning, I had the honor of speaking at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle for their Memorial Day ceremony.

On Memorial Day, we remember the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and the ideas it represents. They are the reason we enjoy the rights and freedoms that make America the greatest country in the world.

To VFW Post 3878, American Legion Post 403, Mayor Bearrows, and every Rochelle resident who came out this morning — thank you for refusing to let their stories and sacrifice be forgotten. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Yesterday, I spent time volunteering at the Loaves & Fish food pantry, worship service and medical clinic at First United Methodist Church (UMC) in Peoria.

Started in 1994 by Dr. Steve and Patti Bash, this weekly event serves 300-400 of our most vulnerable citizens in need. A special thanks to Andrew Rininger, who runs the program for First UMC, and all of the dedicated volunteers!

I am grateful to Kevin Nelson for asking me to attend and volunteer. I look forward to coming back!
