I’m going to continue to show up to protect us, to protect the people of the 10th Congressional District, of New Jersey, and of this country. Because we need protection, and we have to continue to hold this administration accountable.
One of the highlights of my week was hosting New Jersey schools on Capitol Hill. Because NJ community leaders poured into a little girl from Newark, I serve you in Congress today. That’s why I’m always fighting to expand access and opportunity for NJ students.🎒
Each secretary of DHS—Noem, Mullin, whoever—is picked to enact the president’s cruel agenda.
Any leadership that justifies keeping Delaney Hall open is irresponsible, ineffective, and unprofessional.
Today, Team LaMonica tabled at the Jersey City Senior Festival. It was a great event filled with dancing, eating, and connecting with the seniors in the area. 💜
This is horrifying. A private prison corporation is profiting off the forced labor of ICE detainees at Delaney Hall.
People are being denied access to basic medical care & sanitation. They're given rotten food to eat.
It's not enough to shut these facilities down. Abolish ICE.
New Jersey lawmakers are fighting back against the brutalization of immigrants detained at Newark’s Delaney Hall.
“The cruelty is intentional,” Sen. Andy Kim tells Rolling Stone. https://t.co/xO9JBNjI9N
DHS secretary Mullin has been on the job for over two months and we’ve seen nothing change since Kristi Noem was in office.
Switching one of Trump’s pawns for another won’t stop the abuse. We need to abolish ICE and shut down Delaney Hall.
I’m forging a path toward longer walks, hikes, and bike rides for NJ-10. Join me and @njbikewalk to celebrate National Trails Day, where you can learn more about the upcoming greenway projects from your local leaders and walk what will soon be NJ-10’s newest trail.
Farewell to our phenomenal spring interns! It’s been an honor to help them learn the ropes of public service and grow as leaders. I’m excited to see the impact they’ll make in our community and across the nation. Make NJ-10 proud!
Mullin oversees DHS, has never been to Delaney Hall, but still lies to the public about what happens there.
I’ve seen what it’s like with my own eyes and spoken with detainees about ICE abuse. In @homelanddems, I let Mullin know the truth: Delaney is cruel, unsanitary, unsafe.
I've been lucky to get to know Ariadna over my visits to Delaney Hall. ICE ripped this girl from her family and put her in a dirty facility. I’m glad to have played a part in her release and I’m working with her school and family to restore the normal teenage life she deserves.
We have secured the release of a brilliant and caring 18-year old teenage girl held in ICE custody for months.
She is now back on track to graduate from High School.
NJ-10 needs spaces where seniors can celebrate holidays, advocates can organize on community matters, and kids can just have a safe place to hang out.
That’s why I introduced the RESTORE Third Spaces Act—because being able to gather is essential to every community.
When leaders have to wait to stand up for their communities, DHS can cover up their abuses.
We’ve seen it happen: ICE has made us wait hours to get into a facility and see the conditions. Oversight should be immediate and unannounced. My No Delay Act ensures it.
Republicans are attacking voting rights across the country trying to silence our voices—so we’ve got to get even louder.
It’s Primary Election Day, Jersey, so get out there and make your voice heard. Get more info at: https://t.co/0L66uEu0Ad

Working for you means delivering dollars back to our community. I was proud to deliver $250K for East Orange’s Fellowship Center—a place with a rich history in our community.

Black voting power is under attack, but we will not stay silent.
I joined @peoplesorganiz1 as a panelist in their special forum to discuss the Supreme Court’s gutting of the Voting Rights Act and how we can fight back with advocacy and civic engagement.
In these pivotal moments, stand for what’s right and be safe. We’ve seen how rogue ICE is.
I spoke with @pabloreports about fighting to ensure everyone at Delaney Hall is safe—inside and outside of the facility—and how we can keep working to shut this dangerous place down.
