When I asked Secretary Mullin about American citizens being detained by ICE, he told me where he comes from “we’ve got a lot of BROWN PEOPLE.” Rene Good and Alex Pretti were killed and they were not “brown,” Mr. Secretary. We need safeguards in place.
Happy Pride, Orange County!
I’m proud to be a member of the Equality Caucus, where we fight for everyone’s right to be who they are and love who they love.
Happy Pride! As #PrideMonth begins today, we must remember that this month is about more than parades and rainbows.
Pride is—and always has been—a protest; a demand for equal treatment & the right to live openly.
Last weekend, I was amazed by the sense of community in Orange County in a time of crisis. While my team and I assisted those impacted by the evacuations, I was struck by how many good Samaritans were willing to help their neighbors in need.
Thank you, @andy_abeyta, for highlighting how local residents were looking out for one another.

It’s disgraceful that ICE agents have used tear gas and chemical agents on and around children. That’s why @BennieGThompson, @RepShriThanedar, and I sent a letter to DHS, raising concerns on the agency's use of chemical agents on kids.
Thank you, ProPublica for highlighting not only our letter, but this dire issue.

This is an important step forward in addressing the mental health needs of our veterans. Our servicemembers deserve access to innovative, evidence-based treatments that can help heal the invisible wounds of war.
I’ll continue pushing to expand mental health care and support for those who served our country.

Congressman Lou Correa here.
The threat of a catastrophic blevy explosion has been eliminated, but there is still a threat of fire and leak. The OC Fire team is actively trying to reduce this threat.
Press conference coming soon with updates.
The Chemical leak in Garden Grove has officially been declared a Federal Emergency. Federal agencies can now expand their on-the-ground work to help the City of Garden Grove, Orange County, and the State of California with aid in: saving lives; protecting public health, safety, and property; and averting threat of catastrophe in the area.
I am working with federal agencies to make sure that local and state authorities continue to receive the federal assistance needed to address the leak and keep our community safe.
We gather this Memorial Day to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today, and we owe them a debt that can never truly be repaid.
To our Gold Star families, we recognize that behind every fallen service member is a family carrying both pride and profound loss. Please know that their legacy lives on through all of us.
May we never forget those who gave everything for this nation, and may we continue to live in a way that honors their sacrifice each and every day.
On Memorial Day, we remember the brave Americans who gave their lives in service to our country.
We are forever indebted to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation’s freedom and allowed us to build a better future for the next generation.
